I just finished with our Christmas preparation.

What happened? 

Akeelah:
I'm really sorry, for disturbing your holidays with your family. I just really need someone to talk to.
I'm still shaking.
Everything just happened so fast.
My cousin and I were just playing but then, the next thing I know there's shouting and crying in the other room.
Jan, my older cousin was threatening to use a knife on everyone who comes his way. It was the most terrifying experienced I ever felt. What's worse is that, I pass his way earlier while he was holding that same knife. All I thought was he was just having a normal conversation with everyone. I didn't know granny and his parents were confronting him about his addiction.

January: 
What? Oh my gosh! How are things right now? 
Are you in the safe place? 

Akeelah: 
I don't know what happened next, mom and my aunts got us to the other room with my nieces and nephews. But, I think it's over now, it's already silent out there. Thankfully, no one got hurt. 

January: 
Thank heavens! I wouldn't know what to do if I were in your situation. Wish I could be with you right now. I'm sending you the warmest virtual hug! 
Drink water and try the breathing exercises, okay? Just calm down. It's over now. 
I'll call you as soon as I can, okay?

You're the best. But, I'm calming down now. It made me feel slightly better to have to talk to someone about it.
