Paulette's pov
"Paulette, you have to come to the hospital right now!" Val said as she tried to hold her tears back.
"Okay Val, just calm down! What's going on?" I asked her.
"PAULETTE, NOW!" She screamed into the phone.
"Okay I'm on my way! Be there in ten!" She started crying as I hung up the phone. I wonder why she's at hospital, and why she wants me there so bad?
I grabbed my phone, wallet and keys, then raced out the door and drove to the hospital. "Val what's wrong, why are you in hospital?" I asked, concerned for my friend.
"It's cancer." She said quietly
"W.. what no... no!" I said. I couldn't even finish my sentence before I started crying. "Val!"
"Paulie!" We both started crying, until the doctor told me that she had to rest.
"Bye... Val. I'll miss you." Just before I got in my car I texted Zekial telling him that I would be there in five.
Zekial's pov
I heard a knock at the door.
"Come in!" I yelled to the door. Paulette walked in I immediately stood. "Paulette, what are you doing here?"
"I'm here to... apologize. What I did was, wrong." She said
"Listen, I know it's a lot to take in, but I don't have a choice."
"Yeah I know. I read a book about mates and vampires."
"So you understand?"
"Completely and I'm here to say yes."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me"
I ran over to her and hugged her we both stared into each others eyes and then I kissed her. We locked lips and what felt like an eternity lasted in just a minute.
