"Today is going to be a wonderful day!" My mom exclaimed, entusiastically as she licked her palm and styled my hair with her saliva.I gave out into a heavy sigh.
"Mom, I don't think I could do this..." I muttered, grudgingly.
"Of course you can! Just wait and see, you'll make so many new friends here, Mija!" She reassured.
I slightly smiled, gaining a bit of confidence.
"And maybe meet someone that would be more than a friend~" She added.
Her comment instantly made me turn red.
"M-MOM!" I yelled back as she bursted into a fit of giggles.
She walked me outside and to the nearby school.
We reached our destination and my mom kissed me goodbye.
"Have a nice day, Mija!" She walked away.
I smiled again and then it disappeared as I looked up at the school building.
I sighed once more.
"Saint James, please don't be hell..." I murmured as I entered the school building.

First period was okay and so was second. But things started to go downhill for me at lunch.
"Hey, Mexican girl!" A red-headed girl walked towards me while I was eating.
"Seriously?! Pizza? Shouldn't you be eating tacos and burritoes or something?" She spat.
I was about object but then she grabbed the slice out of my hand and she shoved it on my head.
"You're Mexican! Not Italian, idiot!" She snickered.
I felt tears prick on my eyes.
All of a sudden, a hand gripped onto the red-head's hair and slammed her head onto the table in front of me.
"Hope you like the taste of tables, uglyass!" The girl who slammed her face down snarked.
I stared at the red-headed girl's face being smushed to the table.
"Anyway, you okay?" She asked, calmly. She was still gripping the other girl's hair.
"UGHH LET GO!" The red-head struggled but the blonde's grip was too powerful.
"Shut up, Maggie!" The blonde girl spat.
I looked behind her and saw a tan girl with fluffy brown hair running towards us.
"SASHA, THE PRINCIPAL'S COMING" The brunette warned.
The blonde, then, swiftly let go of "maggie" and grabbed my wrist and we ran away together.
We finally stopped in the girls' bathroom.
"Phew! That was close!" The blonde huffed.
"Why do you feel the need to always pick a fight!?" The brunette yelled, still trying to catch her breath.
"Not my fault, Maggie has a death wish," The blondie muttered. "But anyway, I'm Sasha and this is Anne!" She gestured to herself then Anne.
"Uhm, Luz..." I murmured. "And thanks for what you did back there!" I thanked, graciously.
"No prob, Luz!" Sasha grinned. "Always happy to help new kids!"
The bell rung.
"Oh crap, well we better get going! We'll see you around, Luz" Anne called out as they left the bathroom.
I sighed and then turned to the mirror only to find another girl standing behind me.
"BLAHH!!" I shouted.
The raven-haired girl laughed.
"Nice hat!" She said, pointing to the slice of pizza that decorated my head.
She pulled it off and then took a bite.
"Soooooo, you like Anne or Sasha?" She asked, innocently.
"W-WHAT?!" I blurted.
"Oh c'mon! I know you like them! I've been standing here the whole time!" She said, sort of creepy if you ask me.
"I DO NOT!" I yelled with a visible blush on my face.
"Haha okkkk! Keep tellin' yourself that" She giggled. "M' Marcy by the way!"
She held out her free hand for me to shake.
I shook it and she smiled. Oddly, it made my heart flutter a little...
"Well, gotta get goin'! See ya later, Luz!" She probably heard me tell my name to the other two girls.
"B-bye..." I said, faintly as the blush on my face dissipated.
I sighed.
"What the heck just happened?!" I muttered as I walked to fourth period, yelling at myself internally.
I couldn't tell if the first day was a fail or success...
