Kaeya wanted to apologise to Collei for the last encounter if it made her uncomfortable and asks Diluc for help in how to go about it. Diluc was surprised that he didn't try his usual mocking and antics, perhaps Kaeya has matured after all -- or perhaps not... seeing he would "have fun" by getting his clothes completely drenched in the nearby lake.

Diluc: Okay, give me your most sincerest expression and apology right now

Kaeya: You won't be able to see it from an outsider's perspective, you know me too well for that

Diluc: On the contrary, I could also tell if you're being genuine or not. Why don't you direct it to me?

Kaeya: Oh... Just give me a moment then

Kaeya came back and made the most sincerest speech for Diluc actually rendering him speechless for a while and making him look away. The fiery man even had to stand up and stride outside because it almost made him tear up. It was just a few sentimental words, he's obviously heard them before but why were his emotions reacting so powerfully right now? Kaeya called after him but remained sitting where he was and sighed.

Kaeya: It's hopeless isn't it... *Pained chuckle* Humans never change

But well... I will at least give it a go, and bring Lumine with me maybe...

Diluc: *slightly cracked voice* Kaeya... Uhm... Thanks. *Tries to keep composed* I'll be honest with you, those were the most sincere words I've ever heard in a long while

Kaeya was surprised and responded with a warm smile, his insides filling with happiness.

Kaeya: Well I'm really happy to hear that

He autopiloted and tried to give his bro a hug but got a harsh strike back in return.

Diluc: Don't. I fear that I might die.

Kaeya hugged him anyway making Diluc completely break down crying and actually had to lay face down on the floor to breathe properly again. His brother sat by his side, highly concerned, shaking with guilt and horror.

When Diluc could finally move slightly again, a whole gang were surrounding him, frantic checking for a pulse and bringing him first aid. The fiery man rolled onto his back greeted with Kaeya at his other side who was also face flat on the floor looking absolutely terrified.

Diluc tried to give him a reassuring smile but it turned into a grimace.

Diluc: I'm fine please no need for...

Kaeya: Stop lying Diluc.

Diluc: Okay, it felt like a cardiac arrest

Kaeya's eyes widened in shock. Diluc quickly pat his hand to his brother's cheek to signify that he was still alright. The cavalry captain nodded and mustered all his willpower to calm down.

Diluc suddenly recalled his summer as a child, with his father and Kaeya, when he felt so happy that he actually cried. He was a very emotional individual back them.

Diluc: Wow... I'd forgotten all about that...

Tighnari: I've checked, he hasn't been poisoned, neither has he inhaled any toxic matter or seems to be affected by the Dendro environment...

Lumine: Are you sure...?

Tighnari nodded.

Tighnari: He'll just need a good rest. I'll take a closer look once he's better.

Kaeya couldn't hold back any longer and was now crying in despair.

Kaeya: It's all my fault isn't it?! My stupid cursed Khaenri-ahn blood! I can't lose you again... please

This time Diluc managed to muster all his strength to sit up and pull Kaeya into a tight hug. The words Kaeya heard, made his heart stop.

Diluc: My dear brother, I will never abandon you.

Kaeya hugged him even tighter in response.

Diluc: *clears throat* Kaeya, I love you and I will support you no matter what path you choose.

Kaeya waited for the catch, but there wasn't one because Diluc could not seem to bring himself to deny it at all no matter how much he tried. Because he knew very well that Kaeya would never leave his side.

Diluc: Let's just get drinks now, I don't think I can get used to this.

Tighnari came over to inspect again.

Tighnari: How are you feeling uh...

Diluc: Diluc.

Tighnari: Tighnari.

Diluc: Better than ever.

Tighnari: I can tell.
