Denji was definitely smart for someone with his brash sort of demeanour and antics.

Street smart though.

He knows when to haggle for a 14¥ Apple, Or knows when to avoid a street-fight, he knew how to code-switch, he knew how to make a quickbuck by being a "plug".

But since denji and Yoshida were two different beings, they had two types of Smarts. because of this Yoshida never understood why denji needed the price to be lower when he simply could've paid the kind lady her 95¢.

Or how to change himself depending on his crowd of people, To become a suspicious person selling that stuff to others, or simply doing the bare minimum and Avoiding conflicts.

But Denji didn't understand, why he didn't get his way of living.

They were two different people

It was lunch, and it was particularly quiet. Usually denji would've gone on and on and on about how much he likes girls, boobs, sweets, or his disliking for school.

" what's wrong?" Yoshida asks, genuine concern.

"I don't get it".

" what don't you get denji?".

"You".

Yoshida thinks for a moment.

"I'm pretty open, you're just not knowledgeable to pick up the clue's"

"I guess" he shrugged, and continued to eat his cold, grey, uncrustable.

Yoshida didn't understand why he ate those things.

School was finally over and that deafening silence was still lingering. Their footsteps on the Other hand spoke for them.

"Are you still on that?"

"D'ya wanna talk about it?"

.

"Okay"

"Yah"

.

"Well why do you, you know, do everything you do?" Yoshida ask first. They both stop walking.

"I grew up like that, Working for the underground isn't easy- I guess I picked up some stuff from child'hood "

"That makes sense, and—".

" I know, Why do you act the way you do" Yoshida was slightly unsettled he might as well deem it as a insult.

". . I Mean, My parents weren't always there so— I occupied myself with studying." Scratching the back of his nape he looks down at denji.

"Oh. . Mine weren't there too"

"I know".

" you know it all"

" you know it all"
