"Electricity

"Electricity. You can't tell me you didn't feel it too (Y/N)."

You let go of the passenger door and turned your body towards the man in the driver's seat. You were speechless.

Yes, you did feel it too, but all you could think was...

"Are you crazy?"

This... whatever this is obviously won't work.

"No, I don't think I am." Regie smirked and looked down at his lap.

"Shit, I said that out loud." You thought, making sure this thought stayed in your head this time.

He chuckled while running his fingers through his hair, and then looked back up at you. He had such a seductive face on.

You would be lying if you said that face didn't make you feel some type of way, but you knew that this could not happen.

Because...

1. You've only known this guy for less than 24 hours.

2. He's literally famous.

And 3.

Let's not forget 3. It's obvious he's a player.

Just look at him.

His tattoos, his perfect smile that pair with his pearly white teeth, and he probably has one hell of a body under all his clothes.

You were so deep in thought that you didn't notice how Regie was now just inches away from your face with his hand caressing your chin.

"What are you thinking about, hm?" He said looking deep into your eyes.

This is exactly why this wasn't going to work. He knows he got it like that. He knows that every girl will bend over backwards for him.

But not you. You refus—

"Can I kiss you?"

Asdfghjkl... what did he just say?

You looked into his eyes trying to figure out his intentions.

He swiped his thumb over your lips as if the gesture was asking for permission again.

Within seconds, your lips connected with his.

Who kissed who first, you ask? You.

Your dumbass kissed him.

The kiss was nothing like you've ever experienced before. It was hot... but it was also affectionate? It was an entanglement of emotions.

It felt like the world stopped.

Maybe he wasn't a player. Maybe he does actually want to get to know you... and maybe who knows, end up dating.

No. No. No.

After a few seconds, you snapped back to reality. You backed away from Regie, disconnecting the kiss.

"What's wrong, (Y/N)?" Regie tried to grab hold of your hand, but you snatched it away.

"Let's just be friends."

Your sentence changed Regie's facial expression to sudden shock. He looked at you in disbelief.

"What?" was all Regie would muster up.

You wouldn't put it past you if this is probably the first time he's been rejected.

"Just friends. Let's just be friends." You repeated.

"What if I don't want to be? Didn't you feel it too..." He tried to bring himself closer to you again, but you backed away. "... the electricity?"

Your lack of common sense wanted to give in, but you've been burned way too many times before by boys that look just like him.

"Not this time."

You smiled at him. "Well, I want to be just friends." You started to open the passenger door again.

"But, what about that kis—"

"I'll text you when I get home. Drive safe." You cut him off as you got out of the car.

You closed the door as he was saying something, but you couldn't catch it.

Regie pulled down his window, but you started getting into your car already.

"(Y/N), what did I do wrong?"

Your car door was still open.

"Nothing." You smiled.

But something in your chest didn't feel right.

"I'll talk to you later." You tried your best to keep smiling.

You closed your car door, and started the ignition. You shifted your gear to reverse, and looked left and right before reversing.

As you looked to your left, Regie was still there with his window open. You couldn't make out the emotion on his face. Maybe disappointment? You weren't sure. But you sure were not going to be one of his playthings.

You smiled and waved at him through your window and left. You could still see his car not moving as you were about to exit the parking lot.

"He's probably calling one of his bitches." You thought since he wasn't able to take you home tonight and do as he pleased.

The heavy feeling was still in your chest.

All you could think about was your past. All the boys that have cheated and played you.

Your eyes were filled to the brim with tears, but you refused to let them ou—

One tear slipped and not long after, a waterfall of tears came out with sobs following.

You weren't upset because of Regie. You were upset with yourself because...

You almost fell for it again.

All those years of hurt, you've always felt like it was your fault that boys toyed with you and cheated.

You didn't know what you did in your past life, but it's obvious you weren't deserving of love.

Real love.

You weren't enough.
