The Next Day
*ring ring ring*
You could barely open your eyes. You cried yourself to sleep right as you got home leaving your eyes puffy and feeling heavy.
The one thing you hated most about yourself is how you've let the pain from your past relationships linger, still having an affect on your present.
*ring ring ring*
You tried to pick up your phone from the nightstand but instead it fell on the floor. You decided to leave it and go back to sleep. You also decided today would be a day of mopping around by yourself in your apartment.
*ring ring ring*
Or maybe not. You successfully picked up your phone and placed it on top of your ear. Your eyes still closed.
"Hello?" You answered the phone in your groggy 'I just spent all night crying' voice. God, you sounded horrendous.
"Hey."
Your eyes shot wide open. Why did you not check who was calling before answering?
You looked at your phone screen to make sure you heard the right person.

"Hello? (Y/N), are you okay?" Regie asked.
"Uhm, yeah." You cleared your throat attempting to sound more awake and put together.
"Sorry, I woke you up. You didn't message me last night. So I got worried."
"Oh, uh sorry. I fell asleep right when I got home."
"Well, I'm just glad you're safe..." He said trailing off. "Uh, hey. I'm sorry about last night."
"What are you sorry about?" You were curious to know what he was referring too.
"I'm sorry I kissed you." Regie said.
Oh... why did that sentence send a painful pang to your heart?
"Wait... I mean, I'm not sorry about kissing you. I'm sorry about making you uncomfortable because I kissed you. I'm not sorry about the kiss... you know, in a good way." Regie blabbed.
Him trying to apologize and babbling made you smile a bit. You found it cute.
"Are you still there?"
"Oh, uh yeah. I'm here." You replied.
"Did you hear what I said?"
"Yeah, I —"
"Before you say whatever you have to say, can I see you today?"
You didn't know how to reply. Was seeing him even a good idea?
