Chapter 1

In a classroom the final bell rang for the day.

"All right, students, before you leave for the weekend, I would like to talk with a few of you about your midterm grades." the teacher said

The class was still with low chatter.

"You're not in trouble, but I'm less than impressed."

"So I call your name, would you kindly remain so I may speak with you."

"First, Latifah, then Justin, and Taylor... then afterward I would like to speak to Cody Humphry. After cody-"

One student interrupted her.

"Ma'am Cody already left," they said.

"WHAT!" The teacher yelled.

Meanwhile outside.

"Whew dodged that bullet. Midterms were not kind to me." Cody said as he walked to his bike.

He unlocked his bike, "but I don't need another teacher glaring down her nose at me for it." he said

He hopped on his bike, "'course that only means i'm gonna have to bite on monday." he said leaving his school

"Oh well, at least dad isnt home this weekend to bug me about my grades." he said as he rode down the road to an elementary school.

He got off his bike and waited. He listened to the chatter of the crowd.

"Cody," a little girl said, waving walking over to home.

"Hey bridget! How was school?" Cody asked.

"It was great!" she said, releasing him from the hug.

"Ohh hey, i wanna show you something!" she said, digging into her bag.

"What is it?" he asked as he got on his bike.

"We got our midterm projects back in stitching today! Check it out!" Bridget said, showing two hand made dolls of her and cody.

"Hey, not bad. For dolls they look just like you and me." Cody said.

Bridget put the dolls back into her bag and hopped onto the back of Cody's bike.

They left her school. "Thanks ! I'm thinking of maybe making a store when I get older." Bridget said.

"A stuffed animal store?! Wow, Eleven years old and already dreaming of being an entrepreneur." Cody said

"Must run in the family huh, big bro?" Bridget said

"Yeah mom'd be proud you're following in her footsteps. Come, let's get home and make dinner." Cody said

As they biked down the road they passed a road closed sign.

"So Cody, what were your midterm grades?" bridget asked

"Wha?! M-My grades?!" Cody said nervously,as looked over his shoulder for a second.

"Yeah! You already know about my sewing grade but I got A's in all my classes, too! What about you?" bridget asked

"W-well uh i know uh.." he trailed on..

"Uh i got A's in metal working and computer programming." he said

"Cool! What about algebra and biology?" Bridget asked

Cody laughed nervously and stayed quiet for a while.

"Well what good will algebra and biology do for me outside of school anyway?" Cody said

Bridget was shocked, "Cody i thought you were gonna try harder" Bridget said full of shocked
