Satisfaction brought it back

"Marinette, I'm not leaving." Alya said "I need you to just hear me out right now okay?"

Marinette stared at Alya, she really had nothing but the audacity right now, but if Marinette was being honest... she was a little curious as to what Alya had to say.

Curiosity killed the cat.

"I have proof that Lila was lying. Im here to help you and Adrien Marinette, I was never on Lila's side."

Marinette stared at Alya, shocked couldnt even begin to describe what she was feeling.
"What do you mean?"
Marinette said

"Okay, I know its kinda confusing... but I was never on Lila's side Mari, I just needed her to think that so that I could actually get something out of her, which I did because I got her to confess and I have it on a recording as well. Im sorry I didnt tell you sooner Marinette, I couldnt tell you about my plans before but I- I'm here now Mari, I pinky promise and I cross my heart" Alya finished as she stared at Marinette waiting for a response

Marinette stared at Alya as well, she was definitely at a loss for words at the moment. What if this wasn't real? What if this was just an act, to get Lila some proof maybe? Or maybe just to get her to confess something stupid and that way both Lila and Alya can embarrass her in front of the whole school? Marinette had to be smart about this, she couldnt trust Alya yet, she especially couldnt trust her so blindly.

"How do I know that you're not lying?" Marinette questioned Alya.
What could her motive for lying be? Marinette didnt know but she had to ask regardless.

"Mari, I couldnt tell you because you suck at acting!" Alya stated as she let a giggle leave her mouth "you couldnt pretend to be mad at me even if your life depended on it" Alya finished. Within a few seconds of her saying that the room was filled with Alya's laughter.

After she calmed down Alya pulled out her phone to show Marinette the proof she and Adrien so desperately needed.

Not just to clear up their names and reputation, but so they could maybe... just maybe have their little moment of peace, happiness, and a little bit of love.

Alya pressed play on the recording and Marinette listened in very carefully.

Yes...
Marinette thought

This is exactly what we needed!

"Thank you Alya, for this. Adrien and I really needed this!"
Marinette said as she ran up to hug Alya, words really couldnt describe how thankful Marinette was.

"No problem girl! You know I'll always have your back"
Alya said before quickly changing the subject
"So... 'Adrien and I' huh? Are you guys officially together now?!"
Alya squealed

"W-WHAT?! N-no I mean- I guess so? I mean- I dont know- I mean-"
Marinette couldnt finish her sentence before someone interrupted

"Yes, we are officially dating Alya. No we arent in a relationship YET I still have plans for Marinette and I and I still have to get permission from her parents. I want to do this thing right. But first we do have to get this whole 'Lila situation' in control"
Adrien said.

Marinette's face turned RED and she immediately looked at her shoes while she played with her fingers.

Alya burst into a fit of giggles seeing how flustered Marinette was

"So Mr. Agreste, what was it that finally made you see Marinette in that way?" Alya questioned

Marinette turned more red by the second at this point, did they forget that she was standing right in front of them??

"I've always seen her in that way, I've just... tried to deny those feelings because I guess I was just... scared? I dont know how to explain it but love- its a... its a scary thing for me" Adrien said as he bashfully looked down at his own feet as well.

He never had a "good example" of what a good, loving, and happy relationship looked like. His home was only full of arguments, fighting, and lots of crying. The relationship his father had with his mother was anything but happy. He spent most of his nights crying, begging, and pleading for his father to stop hitting his mother. Maybe thats why she left.

Thats what Adrien liked to think.
She left so she can be happy and find a home and when she's ready she'll come back for him.

She has to come back... right?

"Okayyy so um... w-whats the plan?"
Marinette (finally) interrupted

The three of them all sat down and began to think

"I think..." Adrien started "I think we need Nino"

Marinette and Alya looked at eachother before looking at Adrien again
Within a few seconds the girls started laughing

"What?" Adrien questioned

"Adrien just say you feel left out!" Alya said before bursting into another fit of laughter

Adrien's face turned red "okay so maybe I do feel a little... left out" Adrien said "B-BUT he is our best friend and your boyfriend Alya. We cant take down the girl he hates without him here!" Adrien said

"You're right," Marinette said before continuing "we do need Nino. Not just because he's our best friend, but because he can be really useful. I know Nino better than both of you combined! Trust me, there's more to him than meets the eye" Marinette said

This time it was Adrien and Alya who shared a glance
"Alright guys, lets do this"
Alya said
