Kim Nara was someone who wanted to enjoy a life free from worries and stress. Being the only child of a wealthy family gave her more freedom than any other chaebol in the country, but she still felt like she was a spare part of her parents. Spare for when they wanted their legacy to be handed over, someone could carry on their While they weren't the best parents around, they gave her a roof to sleep on and money for her life.

But she has pride in herself, and this gave her the courage to ask her parents for an apartment to live in while she was attending her senior high school. And to her surprise, they only looked at her with a proud smile as they hugged her which she only felt a few times in her life. Nara was excited to experience independence for the first time, and she meticulously saved most of her money to give to her sister, Chaerin.

But she never knew that the money that she saved to renovate the large house was going to be used for the hospital bills. When she saw the body of her sister, with doctors and nurses swarming to her side, she felt like everything was a blur. And she took a step, another, and another until it turned into a run to her side.

"Unnie! Unnie! Wake up! Don't leave me! You promised that you're going to be there for everyone!" She screamed with her raw voice that tears burst out of the dam in her heart, clutching her hands tightly that she was afraid that when she lost her grip on hers, she could never see her again. "This has to be a joke, right? You're just playing a joke on me. You have to wake up now..."

"What are you doing?" She screamed as the nurses pulled her back. "Let me go!" The doctors held a defibrillator in their hands as it pressed on Chaerin's body it bounced up but to no response. "Nurse, a child fainted!" Nara looked to her side to notice the falling body of Heeseung.

"Heeseung!" she shouted as she ran over to grab him, fanned him some air, and quickly placed her on an available bed in the emergency room. "Nurse, please take care of him!" And to her yell, a ‌nurse came over and pressed his stethoscope to the unconscious body of the child. "Vitals are fine. He just needs some rest," he said as he left the bed and made his way through the busy room.

"Aunt Nara?" The curtain opened to reveal the hesitant faces of the younger children of Chaerin. Nara only looked at them with teary eyes as she spread her arms open to them, rushing over to hug her. Their tiny little hands hugged her as tight as it could, and she gave them the same treatment as they stayed that way in the cold emergency room. And a rumble from the stomach of the children caused the young woman to panic; she had never cooked for her nephews before, and she have no confidence in doing so.

She huddled them over to her side, carefully holding their chilly hands to hers, and ventured to the white hallway of the hospital corridor. Their steps were the sounds that they made along with the cries of the younger children, aside from the second oldest from the four children Nara brought to the hospital. "Aunt Nara, can you please carry me? My foot is aching for a while now," Jake said as she only obliged his request and allowed him to lay his head on her shoulders and continued to walk to the hallway.

Everything will be fine; that was one thing that the young maiden thought to herself. All she needs was the positivity and belief that Chaerin could survive this incident. She is an independent and loving mother, and Nara knew that as long as she believed and prayed for her safety, she will wake up all happy and everyone will be alright. "Cheer up, guys! Your mother is just sleeping and being taken care of by the nice doctors and nurses," she said while forcing a smile on the children.

Nara hummed while trying to let the sad children go on their way to the cafeteria. One would say that she happily moved on after she saw her sworn sister on the hospital bed, but if they were to squint over to her dainty hands that she was trembling - oh and trembling so much that her gait as she walks was seemingly like she was about to pass any moment. "I want to eat any meal - oh! And banana milk! We should bring eomma food so that she could wake up faster!"

She only smiled at the young Jay and held open the glass door to the children tottering over to an available table, their laughter seemed to be at a higher pitch as everyone was affected by their happy atmosphere despite the gloomy atmosphere in the hospital cafeteria. "Stay here and don't move," she warned them. It was only when Jay gave her a discreet thumbs up that she decided to stay in the lane of customers waiting for their orders with their metal trays.

It seemed that her eyes wouldn't stop darting towards the young children that happily discuss anything that their imagination could tackle. She wasn't this paranoid of her surroundings before. She usually waits at the table with them - not her being the one ordering for the nephews by herself. And the woman suddenly darted to the counter when she noticed that it was her turn. "I'll pay for one adult and three children," she said while trying to find bills in her pastel pink leather wallet. "And a takeout for another adult and child," she added.

Her eyes widened when the order of trays was too heavy for her to bring alone. So she waved at the table of the children to come over and help her, but only two children - Jay and Jake - ran to her side. "Carry this over for you brothers, please." It was adorable to watch them give the trays to their younger brother and reached back again to hold their trays and wait in their place for her to accompany them to their table. "Eat, eat," she said to the young children who only had grim expressions painted on their faces.

"I don't want to eat," Sunghoon whined and played with the metal chopsticks in his place while the other children ate silently, an act she had never seen them do. "I want eomma," Jay murmured but enough for Nara to hear as she gently grabbed his free hands with no watches or bracelets, unlike other children. "I'm still here. Uncle Minho will wake up soon," she said but was paused when Jake spoke.

"But we want our mother back... Did she leave us?"
