I do not own Naruto.
Hinata sighed as she looked over at Kaira and Tobirama, Kaira's full round belly sticking out in an adorable bump. Her eyes drifted over to Hashirama, who was grinning as he discussed their plans with them. They had gotten married and wanted to build a new living space on the inuzuka land for them to live in with their children. The pregnancy envy was heavy in her. She had wanted so bad to carry his child but there was no luck in conceiving that time. She blinked upon noticing that Hashirama had slipped his hand into hers without a word. He knew she was struggling with their lack of conception without even having to say anything.
She offered him a smile and once the duo left, he leaned in and kissed her softly. A deep blush coated her cheeks as he leaned a little closer and whispered, "Never said that was the only time we could try. We could try every day until it happens, don't you worry." She bit her lip and looked away from him and he chuckled at her antics. Madara ran up to them and ducked behind Hashirama swiftly. Hinata leaned and looked at the tall man cowering behind her future husband and he glared at her and told her to stop acting suspicious. She huffed lightly and looked off to see a fiery redhead storming over to them. "Where is he?" she seethed and Hinata motioned to the hiding man with her eyes, to which Mito smiled at her, but that same heat flooded her eyes when Hashirama tried to save his best friend.
Hinata found it quite amusing to see the two tall men arguing with the much shorter Uzumaki woman, but only because they were both acting like scolded puppies. For months the Uchiha and Uzumaki had been going back and forth, acting like they were in a relationship to acting like they weren't. Everyone knew they were going to end up getting married, it was only a matter of time honestly. She looked back to Hashirama and sighed as she thought once more on her lack to conceive. She figured it was the deities telling her not yet, that it wasn't the right time and it would come soon.
She looked over to see Izuna running over to them with a concerned look on his face. This was never good, when Izuna wasn't smiling something must really be wrong. "We have received calls for aide from the other villages... the tailed beasts are running rampant and are destroying the other villages." He said and she frowned. Mito stepped forward and immediately offered her assistance, as did Tobirama, much to Kaira's dismay. "I will stay here with Itsuki and Kaira..." she said and Hashirama frowned but nodded. Her made his way over to her and ran his fingers over her cheek with a smile. "I would rather you come with us." He said and she shook her head.
"I can't... I have a duty to protect those of us that I am strong enough to, I am not strong enough to face any tailed beasts... not after last time." She said and he nodded once more. She was still terrified after going up against the ninetails. Anytime she thought about that night her body went into panic mode and she couldn't breathe. "I can understand that love. Don't worry about it then, you protect Itsuki and Kaira and we will be back before you know it." he said and she smiled. She turned back to tell Kaira that she had nothing to worry about, but Hashirama continued to speak before she could. "Hinata I am leaving you in charge of the village while I am gone, please protect it for me." He said and she stared at him wide eyed.
"Izuna, gather the villagers, it's time to discuss this with them." He commanded and Hinata just stared at his back as he went to prepare. She took a deep breath and Madara placed his hand on her shoulder as he passed by her. "He feels like someone may attack while we are assisting the other villages. Keep an eye out. You're strong enough to handle any threat that comes to the village, give yourself a break." He said as he patted her shoulder and took off after Hashirama, to which she turned to follow.
When all the villagers had gathered, Hashirama pulled her up to stand beside him. She looked out over the crowd and watched as they all nodded to what Hashirama was saying. "Hinata will be taking over for me in my absence. She is more than capable of handling anything that may happen while I am gone." He said and they all began talking amongst themselves before one man raised his hand to be noticed. "Isnt she the girl who held off the Ninetails until you could get there?" he asked and more people began murmuring around him. Hinata felt the fear begin to creep up in her soul, they knew she wasn't qualified for this in the slightest...
