Max tries to travel to a universe with his temporary portal machine, it's obsolete but he made it as a one-time usage portal. Max sees that the power converter is about to blow, he quickly goes through the portal and sees that the explosion didn't follow him
Max then looks around him, he sees that the portal opened in a toilet booth of sorts.
Max: It looks like even my portal machine has a sense of humor.
Max quickly gets ready as this is a different universe, he doesn't know what to expect outside the door. He opens the booth door and realizes that he has come to a universe where everything looks similar to a normal city in his world, there are no Aliens, Monsters, it looks like an ordinary city.
Max: Huh, you know, when I typed in a random number into the machine, I expected to see a universe with weird things but no, I'm in a universe that is completely ordinary. Good for me.
Max looks around this city, everything looks bright and beautiful like he walked in a street where festivals were going on except all the streets looked the same. Everyone looked so happy in the city and there wasn't a single piece of trash visible on the floor. It was like the city of Max's dreams, A Utopia.
Max: Guess I can set up shop in this universe, find someplace to stay, and use that as my base of operations.
Max then gets attracted by a beautiful scent and sees that the source is a bunch of odd half-blue and half-red flowers, Max was immensely attracted by such a variety of flowers. Max picks up a bunch of them and goes to pay for them
Max: How much are they?
Store owner: About 50 Odr sir
Max: I don't have Odr but can I give you something else for it?
Store owner: Well sir, it depends on the item
Max goes into his bag and inside the bag there's a gun, A small black bag, some books, some pens, pencils, and some pieces of technology. Max takes out the black bag and from it pulls a small diamond stone. Max puts the small bag inside.
Max: Will this suffice?
Vendor: I..... Su... Sure sir, it more than does
Max buys the flowers and walks away when he sees a little girl with bulging eyes, who looks at the flowers he just bought.
Max: You want some?
Girl: Mhmm
Max takes a few flowers out of the bunch and gives some to the little girl, The little girl smiles and thanks Max and walks away smiling and giggling.
Max: This is a utopia; *a laugh* I really want to live here now.
Suddenly, Max sees a rally of Police with military gear walking on a street and one of them comes near him and questions him
Max: (Under Breath): I may have spoken too soon
Agent 091: Have you seen anyone suspicious or anyone associated with the resistance?
Max: Resistance? No, I just came here. I'm from a different country.
Agent 091: Do you have any identification on you?
Max: No, I seem to have lost it
The Agent is now immediately suspicious of Max
Agent 091: Would you come with me, sir? Without disrupting the public?
