Derek

I didn't realize how important Stiles was to me until he was passed out laying against me. Feeling his warmth against me and listening to heartbeat is making this feel all so real to me.

I couldn't fall asleep. I couldn't shake this feeling that Stiles's dreams and him finding me today was connected in some way. I needed to find out why.

I quietly slid out from under the sheets and out from under Stiles's grip which wasn't easy as he was holding on to my side as if he were awake. I didn't want to leave at all, this was the first time I've ever felt like this for really anyone since Paige. I really wanted to stay and just hold him for as long as I could but I needed to talk with Deaton.

After a long walk to the vets, I walked in through the back entrance, luckily everyone else was still there.

I gave a small grin and joined their group conversation.

"This doesn't make sense. If other alphas are out to get Derek, why haven't they shown their faces yet?" Scott asked.

"I haven't felt any death around us lately, and that honestly feels like a blessing but somehow it's not." Lydia said.

"Guys, I don't think we understand the type of alpha we're against. The wolf that Gerard killed wasn't an alpha. In fact he was an omega which makes sense why Gerard was able to kill him so easily. The alpha we're looking for is very old. Very experienced. He doesn't have a pack like we're used to. He takes in omegas and makes them do his dirty work. We need to find one of them and make them tell us where the alpha is otherwise we have no chance." Deaton said.

"Derek, did you get a chance to speak with your kidnapper before he.. well you know?" Deaton asked.

The entire room fell silent and everybody was staring at me. I crossed my arms and took a breath in.

"The guy said I was his target. That the alpha wants me in his pack. Other than that we fought until Gerard and his team grabbed us." I answered.

Deaton nodded his head.

"That actually makes sense. I'm sorry to say the obvious but you don't have a pack. You practically are an omega with alpha abilities. He either wants to take your power or he wants to take advantage of your vulnerability with no pack." Deaton said. It was slightly offensive but he was right. I have no one.

"That's not true. Derek, I know we've budded heads before but we've worked as a team ever since you saved my life. I don't think I fall under your calls but I'd say we're in a mutual pack." Scott said. I smiled a little.

"While that's sweet and all, Derek doesn't have his own betas. He's not leading anyone in a sense. This makes him the perfect target. We need to find out where the alpha is and have a few steps ahead of him. It also seems his omegas are recently bitten or souless, that poor girl they killed isn't connected at all. They're killing for sport to get to Derek." Deaton finished.

"Well I can be bait, I don't mind, if it helps them stop killing, so be it. Let's give him what he wants." I stated. I turned around and sat down on the edge of a nearby table.

"Deaton, I need to speak to you. Now." I said.

Deaton followed me to the back of the building and the others left to go home.

"Derek, what is it? You seem worried. That's not your normal character." He said.

I didn't really make eye contact. When I'm not mad or annoyed I don't make eye contact.

"It's Stiles. Somethings wrong. Actually many things are wrong. I need you to hear me out." I said.

He nodded in agreement.
