Chapter 3: This can't be true....can it?

 It's been about a week since Kengkla drove Techno home from work. As soon as he got home, Techno made an appointment to see a doctor as soon as he could. The fear and anxiety had been eating him from the inside out. He remembered Kla's offhanded remark about possibly being pregnant, and his mind ran rampant with that thought. 'Is it possible? I'm a guy, there's no way! But what if there is?' He couldn't stop his brain from overthinking anything.

Techno sat in the waiting room at the clinic, his leg bouncing up and down rapidly as he bit his thumbnail, unable to qualm the anxiety coursing through his veins. When a nurse called his name, he almost screamed as he nearly fell out of his chair. He stood up shakily and followed her into an examination room and sat on the bed when instructed too. As the nurse left the room saying the doctor will be in shortly, Techno let out a huge sigh, trying to rid himself of any nerves he had. "I hope to Buddha that the doctor won't laugh when I tell him." He muttered quietly to himself.

After waiting for a couple of minutes the doctor walked in and moved toward the man sitting on the bed. "So.....Techno, it says here you've been experiencing some reoccurring bouts of nausea dizziness?" He asked, reading through Techno's chart carefully. Techno coughed slightly and nodded. "Y-yeah. It's been going on for maybe 2 weeks? A week in a half? Something like that." He said softly, as the doctor nodded and put the chart on a nearby desk.

The doctor then proceeded to do a short examination on Techno. After finding nothing out of the ordinary, he shook his head slightly. "There doesn't seem to by anything physically wrong Techno. Your vitals are all fine and you seem healthy as a horse. I can't fathom what could be wrong." He said, moving to leave the room.

"Doc.....w-what about......p-p-pregnancy?" Techno stuttered out before the doctor could leave. "A....close friend said that the way I was feeling and acting lately would make it seem like I was pregnant." He said, unsure of what to call his relationship with the younger man, and decided that 'close friend' was the best option for now.

"Pregnancy? I guess there wouldn't be any harm in checking....Have you had sexual intercourse within a time frame that would make you suspect you may be pregnant?" The doctor ask, grabbing the chart again. He marked a note on in when Techno just blushed deeply and nodded affirmatively. "It's been maybe.....a month an a half now?" He said, thinking back to the morning after his drunken tryst with his brother's best friend.

The doctor nodded and wrote a few things down. "I think we can try 2 tests. I'll get a nurse to draw some blood, which we can send for testing and have the results in a few days. And after that we can try to do an ultrasound. It may be too early to see anything, but who knows?" He said, leaving the room to get set everything up while leaving Techno alone to stew in his thoughts. "Oh god, Kla....what if it's true?" He sighed exasperatedly.

Maybe an hour or so later, he was leaving the hospital holding a small folder in his hands.....the results of the ultrasound. Techno bit his lip and took out his cell phone, calling Kengkla. "Techno? Are you okay?" The younger man asked, worried evident in his voice since he knew Techno was seeing a doctor today. "I'm.....I.....We.....C-can you pick me up Kla? W-we need to talk.....like now." Techno said brokenly, telling Kengkla exactly where he was when given a "Sure".

Kengkla drove up to where he was in less than 20 minutes, having possibly broken a few traffic laws hurrying to get to his boyfriend, who looked like Death warmed over. "Techno? Are you okay?" He asked, getting out of his car and walking toward the older man. Techno just nodded and got into the car, not letting Kengkla touch him. Said man frowned slightly, but get back into the drivers seat. "Techno? A-are you really sick?" He asked, fearfully that the love of his life was mortally ill.

Techno just inhaled and exhaled deeply before handing Kengkla the folder he was holding. "Kla....It sounds unbelievable but it's true....I'm p-pregnant." He said, immediately putting his face in his hands and sobbing heavily. The younger man blinked before opening the folder and taking out the papers inside. The first thing he saw was a blown up black and white image, an ultrasound. Looking at it, it was unmistakable, his boyfriend; whom he lied too and manipulated, was pregnant with his child.

Kengkla put the folder down and immediately hugged Techno tightly....well not too tightly. "It's okay Techno.....I'm here....I won't go anywhere. You and me, we can have this baby together. I promise. I will never leave you to deal with this alone." He said, rubbing Techno's back, as the other man hugged him back just as tightly and just cried heavily into his chest.

"I love you, Techno." Kengkla whispered softly, kissing Techno's temple and vowing silently to himself that he'd never lie to Techno again, because he now knows, that his wife will never leave him.
