13th July, 2029
"Well, hello there, my favorite guy" Yoongi greeted as he stepped through the upstairs floor of the Kim household
"Uncle Yoongiii!!" Ryung squealed, abandoning the book he had been reading on the floor of his playroom, which was more like an open space off to the side of the staircase
Yoongi picked up him and wrapped him in a hug "How's my favorite five-year-old?
"I'm not five yet! Mummy says I'm four until my birthday" Ryung replied like it should have been the most obvious thing in the world
"Oh silly me" Yoongi said, lightly smacking his hand against his forehead "Speaking of your mum and dad, where are they?"
Ryung scrunched his nose in disgust "With Hayoon. Mummy said she'd play with me but all she does is cry"
Yoongi laughed to himself as Ryung was disappointed with his younger sister "Well, Hayoon is too little to play with you"
"When I turn five, will she be big enough to play with me?"
Yoongi laughed out loud this time "Considering you turn five tomorrow, baby, probably not. Want to come to see mum and dad or stay here?"
Ryung squirmed in Yoongi's arms "Let's go see Mummy and Daddy"
He went to the living room with Yoongi following closely behind. It's been a 2 year since they bought a new modern house in Seoul
They arrived in the nursery, across the living room. Yoongi had found his targets, who were laughing as Jennie bottle-fed their newest addition
"Hey Yong!" Taehyung said smiling
"How are we?" Yoongi asked to Jennie
"Tired" She answered as she put the bottle down, turning Hayoon over her shoulder "I thought having an extra set of hands with a newborn would make it less exhausting, but not when you've got a toddler running around"
Yoongi smiled as he looked at his two best friends. Their faces were almost identical, with dark bags under their eyes but glowing smiles on their faces "Well, that's what you get for going and getting yourselves knocked up again"
Jennie sighed "I would rather us to be married before we had another one but it's fine. I'm already going to hell for the first one so, what's one more?"
She stood up and offered the baby to Yoongi, offering him a chance to hold his niece
"How are you always one step ahead of me?" Taehyung asked his girlfriend, pausing the exchange of the baby from Jennie's arms to Yoongi's
They both turned towards him with confusion etched in their features "What are you talking about?" Jennie asked
They both watched as Taehyung stood up, summoned something from their master bedroom. A small tiny black box "You hadn't brought up marriage since like one year before you got pregnant with Hayoon. I was going to do this in front of everyone tomorrow once Ryung's party turned into just the adults but I can't wait for tomorrow so I am doing this now"
Taehyung sighed as he walked over to Jennie and dropped to one knee
"Jennie Kim, you are without a doubt the most incredible mother to our two children. You challenge me into being the best man I could be. I love you-"
"I love you too Mommy!" Ryung chimed in from next to Yoongi
The room burst into laughter at the interruption as Jennie said that she loved him too, tears falling from her face. Yoongi walked over and took Hayoon from her arms, holding his niece
"It's probably safe to say Hayoon loves you too" Taehyung continued "We all love you and couldn't do any of this without you. Will you do the honor of marrying me and make me the most happiest man of the earth"
Jennie nodded as tears continued to fall, too choked up to answer him "Y-Yes" She managed to squeak out. She threw herself into Taehyung's arms, almost knocking him back with force "I love you"
Taehyung pulled back enough to slip the ring onto her left hand, allowing her a moment to admire the emerald cut diamond that would sit on her finger for the rest of their lives. Beside the stone sat two aquamarines- the birthstone of both their children
"It's beautiful" She whispered
Yoongi started cheering obnoxiously, with Ryung clapping beside him as they watched the interaction. Yoongi passed Hayoon back to Jennie and Taehyung picked up Ryung, allowing the family of four to embrace in a group hug
"Well, on that unexpected note" Yoongi said, joining their hug "I'll let you all celebrate as a family. See you tomorrow for someone's birthday" He tickled his nephew, causing him to erupt into laughter
Taehyung put down Ryung "I'll walk you out" He waited for Yoongi to say his goodbyes to Jennie, and then the two stepped out of the nursery and down the hallway
"Holy shit" Yoongi whispered, keeping his voice low enough that Ryung wouldn't hear him swear "You finally fucking proposed to Jennie"
Taehyung laughed, rubbing the back of his neck "I've been anxious as hell thinking about doing it tomorrow, and I just figured why to keep waiting"
Yoongi smiled before he wrapped him in a hug "So glad I got to be there for that. It was the right move"
"I almost did it on the day she gave birth to Hayoon, but that just seemed too much like you had our child that's why you want to get married and like that"
Yoongi laugh "That's true
They said goodbye and Taehyung walked back to his family, ready to get started on their nighttime routine
With minor arguments from Ryung about going to sleep since both parents promised when he woke up the next morning it would be his birthday, the process was relatively painless. The only casualty of the night was Taehyung's shirt, which got soaked while bathing Ryung
Jennie had accepted his offer to put Hayoon down, mentioning something about going to clean and make the house presentable for the tomorrow afternoon party
He found her in the room they had called their lounge, filled with bookshelves, a liquor cabinet, a pool table and a few chaises
Instead of cleaning, Taehyung noticed her on top of the pool table in one of his hoodie and pouring over Ryung baby book, tears streaming down her face
"Jen?"
She sniffled and laughed "I'm sorry, I got distracted. It's just that our baby is going to be five tomorrow. He's growing up so fast. He'll be at college before we know it"
Taehyung moved to sit next to her on top of the table. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and she snuggled into his bare chest "He's still our baby, no matter how old he is" Taehyung reminded her, kissing her forehead "Where'd you leave off?"
She pointed to a picture of Ryung on a bicycle with Taehyung in the background "The first time you let him cycling"
He laughed at that one. That day was one of the best days of his life and probably one of her worst. He had followed closely behind Ryung for what felt like hours, smiling as his son giggled about how the wind tickled his face
They continued to flip through the pages as they watched through moving pictures as their baby grew up in front of their eyes. A picture of Ryung on Jungkook's back. Eating chicken with Jisoo's, shopping with Jimin and Jin, playing with Lisa and Rose, cutting the cake of his first birthday with his grandparents, travelling in the jeep with Namjoon, Suga, Jimin and Jhope
One where both Ryung and Taehyung kissed Jennie's cheeks. Another where Ryung hugged Jennie's parents for the first time
They made it to the last page, and she burst into tears again. Taehyung had added two more pictures in the last week. One of Ryung kissing her big belly in her last weeks of pregnancy. The second was when his son was sitting in Taehyung's lap with Taehyung helping him hold into Hayoon from behind
"We made two great kids, Jen" He kissed her lips
