STEPHANIE'S POV

i wake up to an intense amount of noise coming from downstairs. as usual, its my younger brother, felix, riding his scooter inside the house... felix is a fun, but annoying nine year old boy, with bright green eyes, light brown curly hair and freckles scattered across his face.

"hey steph, time to get up now" my mom said, holding the scooter in her right hand

"hey mom" i said, sitting up and stretching my shoulders, which seem to be awfully cramped

i watch my mom walk away, grab my phone and check the time.
10:17 am. saturday, january 14th 2022

i throw on a hoodie, and make my way to the kitchen. soon enough, spotting felix, sitting at the table, eating breakfast.

"hey stephy" felix mumbles, shoving a waffle into his mouth

"hi felix" i said, ruffling his hair and sitting down beside him.

i grab a plate, a glass of water and two waffles, drenching them in syrup.

"so whats happening today mom?" i ask, biting into the syrup-covered waffle...

"i mean we could go to the mall or something?" she said, sipping at her coffee

"ohh yeah! sounds cool" i said, i haven't been to the mall in a while actually...

i finish my breakfast, go upstairs and start getting ready. i wanted to go for a comfy outfit so i picked out some green sweatpants and a white long sleeve top. once i had gotten changed, i sat at my dresser and did my makeup. i applied some concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes, mascara, a tiny flick of eyeliner and a bit of blush, then moved onto my hair. i brushed my long, silky brown hair and tugged it back into a low ponytail, i then pulled some baby hairs out, so i didn't look bald, put my nike blazers on, and made my way downstairs.

"mom im ready!" i said, raising my voice slightly so she could hear me

"okay just go wait in the car if you want!" she said, coming from the bathroom, i think...

"okay!" i shouted, unlocking the front door and grabbing my stuff

as soon as i got into the car i go on my phone, and wait for my mom.

"felix. you need to put a seat belt on." my mom said, watching felix get into the car

"BUT ITS ITCHY!" he shouts causing me and my mom to flinch

"i dont care felix... put it on." she said with a stern voice.

after about three minuets of bickering between mom and felix, we finally made our way out of the driveway. it takes around fifteen minuets to get to the mall, so we just listened to the radio, and had small conversations. until we finally arrived at the mall.

we got out of the car, made our way inside and started looking around.

"hey hon, are you alright just by yourself for now? felix is getting on my nerves and i need to entertain him for a bit" my mom said, whilst getting pulled into a store by felix.

"yeah sure mom, its totally fine." i said, i kinda wanted to hang out with her, but i understand

"okay, im sorry, i'll call you once we can meet up, okay?" she said, handing me a twenty dollar bill and waving goodbye.

i aimlessly walk around until i spot a clothing store that had some really nice things in it. i make my way into the store, pick out a couple things to try, and walk into a change room.
