I'm in the lift with Charles, Rosa and Amy, when the lift doors open and we all see Jake there. "Woah are you here before me? Am I asleep? Is this a dream?" Amy asked, rubbing her eyes.

"I'm here early because Jimmy Brogan is here today" he said excitedly. "Why do you care so much about some old reporter?" Rosa asked. "Some old reporter? Is the sky just some big blue hat the earth wears?" He scoffed. "No. And no one has ever thought that" I said.

"My point exactly. Jimmy Brogan wrote The Squad about badass New York cops in the '70s. It's the best book I've ever read, and I've read fifteen books" he said proudly. "Fifty books isn't that many. Wait.... you said fifteen?" Amy said shocked.

"The Squad is what made me decide to become a Detective. And it was my first book report" he said. "Fun side note.. I lost my virginity to  Mrs. Stratton's daughter. It was very fast." "Wow very.. useful side note. Thanks" I said. "Nice" Charles said while lifting his mug in the air.

"All right. Everyone's here. Today we're gonna work on our courtroom demeanour" Terry said. "Pass" Rosa said. "This seminar is not optional, Diaz. You're testifying in an aggravated assault case tomorrow. The D.A. is worried about how you present yourself on the stand" Terry said. "Why? I'm fine on the stand."

Rosa was up on the stand and said "Look, I'll make this real simple so even these dum-dums can understand. Man did crime."

~

"I'm sorry... can you make her stop doing that weird thing with her face?" Rosa said. "Crying?" The lawyer asked.

"And when this is over, I'm gonna find you, and I'm gonna break those little fingers." "Ms. Diaz. Please stop threatening the stenographer!" The judge said tapping her hammer.

"I mean you're not the best" I said. " Fine. I'll take your dumbass seminar" she groaned, rolling her eyes.

"All you need is for a jury to like you. If they like you, they'll trust you." Terry said. " Fine. How do I get these morons to like me?" She asked. "Maybe start by not calling them morons" I said. "Good instinct" Terry said.

"Okay. Sit up straight, all right? Be aware of your hands, okay? And don't be afraid to smile. And if you need to buy time, you can always just say, "to be perfectly candid..." Charles said. "To be perfectly candid... I like that" Rosa said happily.

"And always make good eye contact" Terry said. "But not too much, that's kinda creepy" I added. "Don't forget to blink" Charles said. "But don't blink too much" Terry said "or too fast." " I think the bigger worry is slow blinks" Charles said.

"Don't blink too fast or too slow or too much or too little" Terry said. "I know how to blink" Rosa said angrily.

"Why are we meeting in the women's bathroom" Rosa asked walking in with me. "It's the perfect place for our second lesson... Courthouse wardrobe" Terry said. " What's wrong with the way I dress?" She asked. "You know, some people might say that all the black leather kind of makes you looks like an evil villain. Not me. I think you look like a sexy motorcycle" Charles said.

I cringed a bit at what he said. "Boyle, pull it together" Terry said. "Yeah sorry" Charles apologised. "We need to soften up your look. My wife and Charles's mom donated some clothes" Terry said opening a bathroom stall.
