'Snickt!' You turn to look at Logan to see his claws are out.
"You must be Wolverine." The velvet voice says from under the helmet in an almost light-hearted tone. Your heart skips a beat knowing what he'll do but you're frozen. You see an image of a young man many years ago, facing his torturer as he pushed a coin through his head. You stare at the now old man, lip trembling. He doesn't even look at you as he stares coldly at Logan. "That remarkable metal doesn't run through your entire body, does it?"
You watch as he lifts Logan off the ground. All you can do is watch as Erik parts his claws wider. As soon as you hear Logan's groan of pain you snap out of it. You let go of Marie's hand as you step in front of Logan.
"Erik stop!" Erik looks at you confusedly. You take a step forward and take off the illusion. His eyes widen. His hand falters and behind, you hear Logan pant with relief.
"What are you doing here?" Erik hisses.
You roll your eyes as you walk to him. "What? I can't board a train now or somethin'?"
Erik sighs. "You know that's not what I meant."
"Erik. Let him go. Please." You say, resting you hand on his arm. It falters again and Logan lowers a fraction.
"I can't do that Liebling. I'm sorry." With his free hand he grabs you and with the other he continues with Logan to the point where you can see blood leaking from his knuckles.
"Stop!" Marie screams. You tug your arm but his hold is firm. "Stop it!" She cries.
You look at Logan through teary eyes. He looks at you and glares at Erik. "What the hell do you want with me?" He manages to growl through his teeth.
"You?" Erik's voice is amused. "My dear boy, whoever said I wanted you?" Horrified you look at Erik's smirk before turning to Marie. You see it the corner of your eye as Erik flicks his wrist, sending Logan hurling into the front of the train. You feel your pulse pick up, watching Logan's limp body. You shout as loud as you can;
"MARIE RUN!"
She stays in her seat for a split second before running toward Logan. Erik loses focus from you and you slip out making a pair of daggers from dark matter. Accurately you cut the back of his hand making him hiss. His gray eyes are cold and hard as he fights back deftly. Until you hear the thump. You turn and see Marie slumped on the floor. Cold snakes its way around your wrists making you gasp. You look at the metal bonds before looking at Erik.
"Erik, you shitbag!" You scream in his face. He flinches at the words. "Do you really think this is what they wanted?"
He presses his gloved palm to your face and you lean into it. His eyes are full of tears. "No, but I will make make the new world they should have had. A new world that if they had had," A tear trickles down. "They would still be here."
You shake your head. "They would be ashamed of who you have become, like I have."
He frowns. "That's too bad. Actually Adrien wouldn't. He always understood." He lets go of your binds and lowers you. You shut your eyes so you don't cry. Very gently you feel him peck your forehead. "Forgive me."
You open your eyes and suddenly he's shrinking while everything else blurs. Wind gushes past you. The split second before you hit the back of the train you realize this is what Logan saw and felt. A sharp pain goes through your head and everything goes black. Out of the black murky darkness there's a light.
