Level 1

(Mikey's POV)

After what felt like years, I finally got out of that triggering place. My stomach is making more noise than a truck and my head feels like it's going to explode. When I got in the exit, black. Everything went pitch black. Then suddenly, I heard a deep voice, like somebody was speaking with a voice changer.

-Good job, you have successfully finished level 0. It is now time for level 1. Be careful. level 1 has some entities in it, but you will find food and water, and your friends. Teleporting now. Wish the best of luck.

What the hell? Another level? Did he mention something about my friends? Am I not alone here? Entities?

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a humid parking lot, with puddles of water everywhere. There was light and all I could hear was water dripping. But this little water symphony was broken by the yell of my friend.

-Mikey! God I'm so happy your here!
-Valerie?

She ran to hug me, despite her visible weakness and exhaustion from her pale skins and her unusual dark circles below her green eyes.

-Where the hell are we?
-The backrooms.
-What?

How did she know about this place already?

-It used to be a legend where you would randomly wake up in the backrooms. It's like this other dimension with an infinite amount of levels. Most people die of hunger or loneliness before the entities actually get to them.
-Entities?
-Yes. In most levels they are different entities, nobody knows why they're here. Some are nice and will just follow you around by curiosity, but some want things that aren't as nice.
-Do you know anything about this level?
-Yes, this level is called the habitable zone. It's basically kind of like an old parking lot with an abandoned shop. There's source of drinkable water and food. They are entities in this level, but they only come out when the lights flicker or when they stop working. Sometimes it's for a few minutes or even a few hours. Entities in this level usually won't attack if you're in groups. If you see one, you need to run for your life.
-Valerie, how the hell do you know all this?
-Cause I had a phase where I was addicted to this legend. Now I guess it's not really a legend anymore.
-So we should find the others then.
-We don't know if they're with us though.

We both started walking, yelling our friends name, in hope to find them. After a few moments, Valerie yelled and hurried me to come see what she had found.

-There's food!

She was in this abandoned 7-11. It wasn't the healthiest food, but it was better than nothing. I took some in my pockets to give to the others, if we ever find them. After we ate until our stomachs we're full, we walked around looking for water, which was pretty easy to find. We walked around for a while, still looking for our friends when suddenly, the lights start flickering. Valerie looks at me, and we both start running to get somewhere to hide. As we're running, the lights go off.

-We need to find a shelter quickly, I can hear the entities starting to roam around.

Valerie was right, I could hear groaning and weird inhuman sounds. We finally found a hole in the floor which led to another 'secret' room. It was dark and we couldn't see what was in the room. I slowly put a foot in front of the other just to make sure I wasn't stepping on something.

-I think we're okay here, Valerie said.
-Valerie? A familiar voice replied.

Out of the dark I saw two shadows approaching us, at first I stepped back, scared of the shadows being entities, but I quickly recognized Emmanuel's face, followed by Lucy's. I exhaled loudly of relief and went to hug both of them. They were here, looking alive and healthy.

-I'm so glad we finally found you guys, Lucy said.
-Yeah, we need to stay together in order to get out of this... , I was interrupted by Valerie's loud hushing
-Guys, don't make a noise, she whispered, I think some entities are here.

Lucy quickly walked back to hide in the corner of the room, followed by Emmanuel and Valerie. I wanted to see what the entities looked like. I slowly approached the entrance of the trap and took a sneak-peek of outside. My heart dropped when I saw the entity. A tall humanoid figure, with especially long arms, eyes and mouth pitch black and the skin grey like dust. It was slow but made a lot of noise at each step it took. The entity looked around for a few minutes, until it slowly walked off. The lights started flickering and finally got back on. As soon as the lights were on, the entity quickly walked off, to hide back in the shadows. We crawl out of our hiding spot and resume our wandering around, but this time with the whole crew. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one being triggered by the emptiness of this place. It makes me feel... uncomfortable. The water dripping, the humidity, the fluorescent lights, it's like a mix of things that make me feel a certain discomfort. We go back to the abandoned 7-11, to pack some food in Emmanuel's backpack for the next levels, and maybe possibly find some things that could come-in handy like a lamp or something. After hours of walking around, we finally encounter a long hallway that leads to an exit door. The group looks at each other and we all start running down the hallway, as the lights begin to flicker again. As soon as we open the exit door, the lights go out and we all enter the exit.

-Good job, you have successfully finished level 1. You are now being teleported to level 2, "pipe dreams.". Beware, in this level, they are certain entities that roam around. Previous explorers have left utilities on metal shelves. Best of luck.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome back! Glad to see you've made it here already. Now, let's continue what I was previously talking about, shall we?

Our adventurers are now heading to level two of the Backrooms. What they do not know is that level two is timed. Indeed, the pipes longing the hallways in this level are very hot, and the temperature can go up to 90 degrees celsius, which will boil any human. If our dear friends do not hurry up on this level, they will be cooked alive. But, that's not the most important thing for now, is it?

As I was saying, they are possibilities of shortcuts in the Backrooms. Depending on what exit you choose, you will end up maybe fast-forwarding 150 levels. Now, the question that we have all asked to ourselves, is there a way to exit the Backrooms?

Yes.

I'm afraid that's all the information you'll get for now, sadly. I hope to see you soon. Remember, always watch your back.
