As I look out my window, I see the cold, Dark sky. I should go to bed now, I thought. I sat on my bed and took a sip of water from my glass I always have on my nightstand. I place the glass down, And lie down on the bed. As I close my eyes, I slowly drift away into a deep slumber.

I woke up to something I normally wouldn't wake up to. "Oh no!" I say, As for I thought I had overslept since I did not hear my alarm.

I open my eyes in shock. I was lying on damp moss, Surrounded by tall thin trees, Just barely covering the sky. The smell of the damp, Cold air was quite nerve-racking. The feeling of being alone in a forest was already enough to trigger my fight or flight.

All of a sudden I feel a sharp pain in my leg. "Ouch!" I say, As I look at a small pocket knife in my leg. I had somehow slept on it without noticing.

"Jesus! Who leaves a pocket knife out in the middle of the woods!" I say.

"I don't think that's out biggest question right now." A voice from behind me said.

As I turned around, I see a woman with long brown hair, Brown eyes, And half torn clothing.

"Who are you?" I said, A bit frightened.

"I'm Monica. Need help with that uh.. cut?"

"Please..?"

She then walked over to me and slowly pulled out the knife. Then quickly bandaged it.

"Thank you!"

"No problem. And uh.. I never got your name" Monica said.

"Oh yeah, My name is Alex. Nice to meet you" I said, Holding out my hand as to gesture a hand shake.

Monica looked away. "So.. did you wake up here too?"

I put my hand away a bit embarrassed.

"Oh, yeah. I don't know how the hell I even got here. I was in my bed and then.. I just woke up here."

After a while a talking, We decided to keep looking around. We decide to walk deeper into the forest, Hoping to find someone or something.

About two hours we had been traveling.
"My legs are so tired.." I complained.

"I know. But we must not rest now, We have to find shelter. Who knows what predators roam this forest.." Monica said.

We kept traveling and eventually, We both got tired. We sat on a tree stump to rest our legs. We were sitting there I suppose for a few minutes. Then out of nowhere, An arrow gets shot at us from behind one of the trees. The arrow lands on the tree right next to me. I was speechless.

"Quickly, get down!" Monica said. As she pulled me down behind another tree. The arrows kept shooting.

We decided to make a run for it. We ran and ran until we felt breathless. We then stopped, And so did the arrows. I took a deep breath of relief, As Monica sat down on the moist moss covering the wet soil underneath.

"I don't know who or what that was, But it sure didn't want us there.." Monica said.

"This is insane, I must be dreaming! There's no way this is happening!" I shouted.

"Alex! We both just saw what happened, Keep it down. And about this being a dream, How would you feel that pain? I think this is far too real to be a dream, Alex."

We built a small laying area with some twigs we found lying around the forest.

As it turned night time, We both lied down on the mat we had made.

I closed my eyes, And fell asleep. When I woke up, I heard my alarm. With much relief, I opened my eyes. I was back in my room. "Oh thank god! I'm home!" I said, very excitedly.

But just then, But excitement slowly faded away when I heard my name being called ever so slightly.

Then, I felt shoving on my arm. I woke up again, to see I was still in the woods, And Monica had woke me up.

"Dammit!" I said a bit frustrated.

"What's wrong?" Monica asked as she stood up.

"I just- nothing.." I also stood up.

"Alrighty then. Well, we must keep moving if we ever wanna get out of this place.."

I agreed. And so then we began our journey.
