"A WHAT?" Audrey asked.
"That sounds stupid." Chad added before Mal gave them both a nasty glare, which made them go quiet.
"I don't care what any of you are going to say. We're planning this ball and we're putting it on tomorrow night." Mal said, sounding determined.
"Tomorrow?" Evie, Carlos, and Jay asked.
"TOMORROW?!" Audrey practically screamed.
Mal pinched the bridge of her nose. "Yes, tomorrow. I think we've all established that."
"But Mal, you can't plan a party in a day." Jane said.
"Duh! I've been planning this since last night. But I know it'll work. Come closer, here's what we need to do." She pulled her friends closer to her and in a whisper, told them her plan for that very night.

For the next several hours and long into the next day, Ben, Evie, Audrey, Jay, Carlos, Jane, and even Chad were all hard at work planning the ball making sure everything was perfect. Evie designed special outfits for both Maleficent AND Hades, Carlos and Jay set up the music and sound system, Audrey and Chad made the food, cleaned up, and put up the decorations, and Jane kept a list of everything and made sure everything was going according to plan... while Ben and Mal did their very best to keep the Hades and Maleficent occupied, away from each other, and NOT in the know of what was going on. Mal and her mother were having a girls' day out, complete with shopping and makeovers. Ben on the other hand insisted that Hades show him around on the Isle of the Lost, which he was very reluctant to do.
And after what felt like an eternity, the night of the ball finally came; all of Auradon and the Isle of the Lost was in attendance and dressed in their finest. The sun had set and the night was fast approaching. Right before the ball started, Mal was practically dragging her mother by the arm over to where the bridge to the Isle was supposed to be, all with Maleficent blindfolded and rather irritated.
"Come on, mom!" Mal insisted.
"Don't you 'come on' me, young lady! I've had a long day today, I'm tired, and I want to relax!" Maleficent argued.
"But there's still one last surprise!"
"Can't it wait until tomorrow?"
"Nope!"
"What even is this surprise anyway?!"
"If I told you, it would ruin it!"
"Can I at least have a hint? And why do I have to be blindfolded?"
They suddenly stopped.
"What happened? Why'd we stop?" Maleficent asked.
"You'll see... HIT IT!" Mal shouted before she took off her mother's blindfold.
Maleficent rubbed her eyes in annoyance, looked, and gaped at what she saw. The entire courtyard was decorated for the occasion; flickering lights in lanterns, a few lit torches, garlands of black and all different shades of red, a stereo system with spooky waltz music beginning to play, a large floating mirror ball that was sparkling all shades of red, and guests of all shapes, colors, and sizes were there, both from Auradon and the Isle. Maleficent's eyes widened in wonder and shock; she silently gasped.
"What's all this...?"
"I'm so glad you asked." Fairy Godmother said, practically evaporating out of thin air next to the wicked fairy. "Go ahead and tell her, dear."
"Mother, welcome to the first ever Auradon Blood Moon Ball!" Mal announced with pride.
"Blood Moon...?" B-b-b-but-but-but... what? Where? When? Why? HOW?!" Maleficent stuttered.
