A dragon as black as a starless night flew over head Moon valley, she was crying after a horrible decision that see made was coming into play, she glanced down at the small village that was disappearing in to the darkness of the night, she saw small figure moving around small fires and smelt the smell of cooking meats. 'My home, or what used to be my home.' She thought sorrowfully, as she betted her black wings in the endless black void that was the dark sky. She had grown up in this valley, she pretty much knew everyone in the tribe and was married to the queen's brother. Even thinking of his name made her body shiver in fear, after seeing what he did to an innocent dragon, 'Which is why i had to leave. Me and my dragonets.' She reverently held her ebony egg as she flew with tears in her eyes over her old home. Eclipse flew for a while passing over villages she had visited, the library, her favourite place to go when she was a dragonet her self, and the palace were she told Darkmoon to meet her tonight to "deliver" the news about there dragonet. It surprised her how said she would be that she was leaving him without a goodbye, or any sign of were she was going, 'When my little dragonet is safe then maybe, ill come back here, but that won't stop Darkmoon's furry about me leaving the kingdom and going to the kingdom of refuges and cowards or leaving our egg there.' She though with a internal sigh. She got tired after a while when the sky started to turn gray with a small streak of pink on the horizon. She landed by a stream and drank from it and found a dragon fruit bush ' So I'm still in my kingdom.' She thought in a small panic. She rested and ate and wrote down name ideas on a big, round water proof leaf
"Ebony, Midnight, Darkfrost or Moonreader?" She murmured crossing out three of the names and wrapped the leaf around the egg. She heard wing beats and looked up to see three dark figures plummeting towards her and saw in panic that it was almost dawn. "The royal guards?!" She whispered in panic and realized she whispered aloud and snapped her jaws shut, like that was going to do any good. She seized her egg and ran over to the stream with tears flooding down her face she whispered "Goodbye my little dragonet." she then gently placed the egg in the stream and it carried it away 'Into Evergreen valley were she can grown up without the fear of being controlled by her father like her half brother, but unlike her poor older brother had been.' Another reason to be saddened by her choice, Moonreader would never get the see her brother. She heard talons thumping behind her and the sound of clanking metal. With out warning a heavy metal chain encircled her neck and back legs. She roared in furry the first other emotion she experienced that day, other than sadness. She unhinged her jaws and snapped at the nearest guard and managed to bite them, freezing them instantly. The chains around her back legs loosened and she got her back legs out of the chains, but the guards tightened the chain around her neck and she stopped gasping for air. One guard stepped up and put a pair of shackles to her ankles, before clasping a metal collar around her neck, that was connected to the chains connected to the shackles. She roared and stabbed her tail all over the place. She winced in pain as her tail hit metal. One guard probably the largest of them leaped at her and pined her down. She writhed in furry and she raked her front claw across his right eye. He grunted and held her head down before flipping her on to her belly. She gave up and watched sadly yet furiously as her leaf wrapped egg floated down stream. the guard on top of her shouted to the other two guards "Get the muzzle and tail clamp! Shade go fetch someone else to drag Silver back to the palace." Eclipse wiggled under his talons and managed to free one of her front legs. Eclipse carefully inched her tail until it was under her chest. One guard came in front of her with a large metal block that was shaped like a dragons snout. The guard looked pitying 'Don't think that she's pitying me, she's probably just looking like that to trick me.' She thought venomously glaring at the guard. "Try to putting that on." She growled opening her mouth showing her long fangs, off. The guards finally got the muzzle with great difficulty, and that tail clamp. They carried her in to the air. But just before that she glanced at the river. Her egg was out of sight and hopefully safe. They then took her away up into the air, and closer to the dragon she did not want the see.
A pale yellow dragon walked up to the stream running through the town, it was another ordinary dawn at Thoughtful, the owls hooted loud enough that it sounded like there was one hundred of them, Crickets chirped in the background battling the sound of croaking frogs and bustling dragons. Something caught her eye. 'A leaf wrapped over something?' He thought sceptically. He walked over to a small rock formation around the stream and craned his neck down towards the river. He nearly stumbled off the rock after he saw what the leaf was wrapped around 'A Eclipsewing egg?! Who in there right mind would drop there egg in the river and NOT go after it?' He thought angrily. He slid down the slop and went to the streams bank, Mud seeped into his scales and caked in between his talons but he did not care. He gently picked the egg up and saw in even more horror and disgust that it was a royal egg 'Well who ever the dragonets parents were they were clearly horrible and I bet I know who the parents were.' He thought darkly of Darkmoon and Eclipse "Since they did not keep you ill take care of you little..." He paused and unwrapped the leaf of the egg to get a better picture of the egg. The leaf had writing on it. Jagged letter spelt out four names, but three were crossed out, and one was clearly visible "Moonreader." He murmured sounding like a extra insect in the chore. He looked down at the egg again and realized a crack was on the side that he was holding. He froze 'Did I crack it or did the stream stones do it?' He though in a panic, but then a cracking and tapping noise sounded from the egg and the crack expanded "Your hatching already?!" He said aloud in alarm. The egg shattered into a thousand pieces, in his talons and all over the ground. The dragonet looked up at him as he lifted the dragonet higher "Hello little Moonreader." He whispered "Argwar?" She squeaked tilting her head to the side, and then he looked at her and knew immediately she was an enchanted dragonet, she had ebony scales that looked slightly close to a very dark blue. She had one red eye and one midnight blue eye, she also had alarmingly pale blue talons with one of them being more white. She had one blood red wing and one frosty blue wing one the same side of her eyes. She reached tiny claws towards him and he pulled her in for a small hug "You are my special dragonet now and you will have a great life, away from war, and cruel dragons like your parents." He said gently looking at her 'I have been in your place before i will make sure you don't end up like me.' He thought, he hoped. Storm than put Moonreader in his small pouch around his neck and walked back to his town, with a new dragonet who might save the world one day.
