Moon was awoken to the sound of running talons and squeaking. It was annoying and frustrating, but she knew how hard it is to sleep with dragonets the size of owls running around a confided area, but all she wanted was some decent sleep for once. She cracked an eye open to see Singe in front of her snout with a hopeful expression "Hm?" She said opening both eyes, wondering why Singe was in front of her at the crack of dawn "Moon are you awake?" He said in a loud whisper. There was a cool breeze today. Small bars of golden light crept across the floor as the sun slowly rose "Yes. What do you need?" She said with a sigh, she rubbed her head with a talon as she got up. Her cave was big but scarcely decorated. In her part of the cave anyway, she had to take care of three dragonets now that were only as big as her foot, well two of them anyway the third one was as tall as her shoulder. "I'm hungry." He said sheepishly "And the food bowl is empty. " He shuffled slightly "Again?" She said sounding irritated but managed to keep her voice calm and controlled. "That's the third time this week, are you sure you or the other two aren't eating the snacks at night?" She glanced around the cave "Speaking of them were are they?" She said stretching her, neck, wings and tail. "They went to the watering hole." Singe said shifting his small talons a little more. "Alright," She said walking over to the dragonet corner and grabbed a large wooden bowl, that was stained with animal blood. "Come along Singe." She walked out of her cave into a whirlwind of shouts and loud thoughts, She had a splitting headache but then, it slowly faded away 'Thanks father.' she thought sadly, but then was thrown into furiously, dark, bitter hurricane about her real parents, especially her father 'He kill my father the one who did not abandon me, the father who raised me and was not blood thirsty but i cant be  angry at my father as i don't even know him.' She thought, then realized she stopped as Singe nudged her forearm "Are you alright?" He said in a small voice glancing up at her with worried, curious eyes "Yes I am." She said gently, snapping out of her trance of bitter thoughts of a dragon she did not know. They started to the food station when pain lanced through her tail,  she dropped her bowl, hissed and wiped around, to see Magma holding her tail down with heavy talons. "What do you want, you rotting oyster?!" She spat glaring at him. She used one of her front talons to scoot Singe towards their cave. "Where do you think your going?" He said with a note of smug superiority "The food station now let me go before I make you!" She snarled. Yanking her tail from under his rough talons "Oh like you can beat me." He said mockingly, and flicked her nose with his tail tip, she glared at him before without warning a dragon pined her down. She twisted and sank her teeth into the dragons forearm. They froze and loosened there grip on her. She twisted out of there grasp and faced Magma, to see he looked shocked "What? Oh you forgot Eclipsewings could freeze other dragons, maybe your head it as thick as it looks, or your just a stupid coward!" She bellowed at him, as he looked dumbfounded. He suddenly got up on his back legs and tried slamming her to the ground. She moved out of the way just as his talons thumped on hard the stone behind her. She whipped around and bit his shoulder. He froze and he was left with a face of contorted furry. She looked around and saw the amazed, wary, shocked faces of everyone else "What?" She snapped in an irritated voice and frowned. Everyone went back to what they were doing but more stained and hasty. She turned to Singe who looked surprisingly calm, but a little wary "Wow, I thought no one would fight you." He said quietly as she grabbed the bowl and they exited the living quarters into the main cave "What makes you say that?" She asked confused "I mean you are intimidating, but I am quite small." He murmured half to her half to himself. The main cave was brightly lit by the morning light, a breeze travelled into the cave from the entrance. A large pool of water was in the centre of the cave where a bunch of dragons huddled drinking, talking or playing around there. "Asteroid! Dawn!" Singe suddenly yelped and ran over to two other dragonets who were chatting. "Singe!" They both exclaimed Asteroid wrapped his wings around him and Dawn winded his tail with his. Moon let them do their own thing, as she went to the food station, that was more of a hunting ground than anything. Prey ran a muck and dragons were chasing the prey around, boar ran around bumping into other animals or dragons. Bears and bulls squared off with the dragons some who were two times bigger than them. A stream ran along the large cave dome where dragons sat selling fruits. Moon flew down there and placed here bowl where her name was emblazoned on a metal stand next to other metal stands. She then turned to the chaotic mess that was the food station. She managed to find two pheasants who were not being chased. She flew over to were the pheasants were and killed the first one with a blow to the head with a powerful talon. The other saw there friend die and tried running off but she slammed her tail into it sending it flying a tail length or two away from her, but it was clearly dead, she grabbed her first pheasant before walked over to the second one and grabbed, it. A dragon slammed into her knocking her off balance. "Ack!" Moon yelped as she tumbled slightly and stumbled to her feet and faced the newcomer "Sorry!" Called a female voice, that sounded apologetic, confused and a little mischievous. "Did you do that on purpose?" Moon said standing up and looked at the dragon who slammed into her "No." The dragon said standing up, and Moon saw they were trying to be dignified. "Moonreader, you?" She said with an arched eyebrow. This dragon was a dark smoke gray, with cyan wings and had two cyan eyes like her wings but red slits were in her pupils eyes. She also wore a brown leather belt and a white scarf. "Sinon, nice to meet you." She said still sounding confused. She looked at Moon and frowned slightly "So care to explain why you look like your about to murder someone?" Sinon said wryly looking Moon up and down "I do?" She said a little taken aback, if she was completely honest with herself "Well I got into a fight with Magma so I'm not in a particularly good mood right now." Sinon's eyes widened as she said "Magma" Sinon coughed before saying "You got into a fight with him? I m surprised you aren't in the infirmary, I nearly got throttled by him a fortnight ago." "Really? I think I'd hear about it, knowing Magma anyway." Moon's mind was tugging towards Sinon's mind. She tried to open her mind but she was thrown into a storm of, grief, guilt, blood and trauma. She stumbled back and bumped into a dragon who exclaimed "Whoa, are you ok?" Said the new voice, this time male. Moon looked up to see a dragon the same height as her, with ebony scales, but had white stripes on his snout tail and wings over himself and his eyes were a pale blue she never saw before, but they were glazed over with a white film. 'What happened to this poor dragon? Hope they had not gone through what I had to but that is quite doubtful.'  He thought  "Um nothing." Moon said quickly shaking her tail and grunted as she walked and discovered her tail was lodged under a tree trunk, she yanked it out and sighed "OK." he shrugged and went back to trying to find something "What did you go through?" She asked hastily which made her want to bite her snout off. He twisted his neck around, and stared at her with a  "What are you talking about?" He said arching one eyebrow "Um nothing." She said, in what she hoped was a confident voice. "Hm." He said squinting in her direction "Weird, carry on." He said before he whipped his head around and managed to somehow catch, a mountain goat. He bit down hard killing the goat instantly blood staining his teeth and she heard words of her nightmares start bubbling up in her head as she looked at him for a little longer with the dead goat.

Moon flew back to the pool carrying her two pheasants and a small boar. She had been down there longer than she realized and her talons ached slightly from carrying the large bowl that contained food. It was almost sunset she landed with a small thump at the watering hole and snatched a small drink before walking off "Moon!" She heard Singes voice squeak as she headed to a small patch of grass that was sun lit "Hi Singe, are your brothers with you?" She asked dropping her prey bowl on the grass. "Yes we are." Dawn said sidling up beside Singe "Sky's above what happened to you?" She said alarmed at the scorch marks that dappled his tail now and they were fresh, she could tell by the rising smoke from the burns. "One of Magma's followers." Asteroid growled than winced, he also bore scorch marks all along his tail but he had one on his wing. "Come here you two." She said curling her tail around the three of them "What happened? Tell me "He bullied you two" And ill set him on fire." She growled "He attacked us." Dawn admitted "Did you provoke him or did he randomly attack you?" She said tearing up the pheasants and passing some to the three of them "Randomly." Singe said a little numbly. She growled softly, she was going to flay that dragon alive! Seriously, if your dumb enough to hurt a dragonet that was protected by someone you deserve to be throttled or killed. She looked outside, almost dusk. "Let eat in the cave." she said gently nudging them up.

Moon curled her tail protectively around her three dragonets, they technically weren't hers but she was their adoptive mother. She yawned and carefully took out her sketch book, and started to sketch something random. When she finished she realized it was a picture of her, the other mystery dragon and Sinon. 'Well they were nice to me.' She thought with a small sigh. She glanced at the dragonets they were asleep. Dawns tail was draped over Singes snout and Asteroids tail was curled around both of them. She carefully got up and walked over to her desk and sat down. She re-lit the lantern next to her with a hot coal that was in the small fire place. She winced as the hot coal touched her scales but it went away quickly as she placed it in the lantern. She grabbed some scrap paper and placed it in the, lantern. It caught ablaze immediately, sending a burning wood smell throughout the cave. She then started to draw something that popped into her head something she knew she should have done a long time ago. " If I'm correct and this enchantment works." She murmured, the fire making her eyes look like they were burning, and a small grin flickered across her face "Then me and my dragonets will be safe and stupid Magma or anyone else won't be able to hurt us. Unless someone has my powers. But they will be safe before the last rare night shows its claws of fate to me." She thought then placed her talon on the book and let the power from her talons surge into the book and she fell asleep knowing what needed to be done tomorrow .
