Luke and Blaire scampered all over the new battle ground in search of their friends, the number of people running around had reduced but there was still commotion.
The fires and smoke made it more difficult for them to get around. They had spotted several dead bodies on the floor, each different deaths...
Luke was getting tired, he wasn't exactly the athletic type and he had reached his limit some time ago, the only thing that was keeping him standing now was Blaire's warm hand and fear for his two missing friends.
"Luke...", Blaire was holding her chest and bent over. She was gasping for air. She had no problem with running for a while because she was in the track team at school, but this wasn't exactly your normal track race.
"I can't breathe". She mustered out.
His started getting light headed.
Damn....I can't breathe. Blaire's losing her head too. Shit! If we both go down, then what's going to happen to Noah...and Dana. I can't even save my friends. What kind of person am I?! A guy who can be saved but can't save?
I...
have...
to....
"Luuke!!!"
He heard a shout from the distance, he was still dizzy and couldn't figure out the position. His body was about to give up again.."Luuuke!!!"
His ears picked up where the voice was coming from. He gathered what ever strength he had left in his body and carried Blaire on his back. Her blood dripping on his neck.
He lugged over to a pile of burning debris, looking around he saw Dana on her knees frantically trying to push the debris off something.
"Dana! Thank God you're alive!! Where's Noah?!", He asked her with relief written all over his face.
She looked up at him pitifully. Tears streaming from her eyes. She was looking down under the pile of burnt wood. "He tried to save me!! H-He tried to save me! He saved me but...n-now I don't know if he's alive!! He's trapped under the debris". She whimpered.
Luke looked below to see a dirty hoodie and a hand sticking out. "Shit!". He said, setting Blaire down next to Dana and removing his jacket.
He grunted as he tried to move the massive weight off of his friend. It wouldn't budge.
"Fuuck!!!", He screamed. "It won't fucking budge!.... it won't fuckin...budge". Tears filled his eyes.
His arms were getting tired and Dana was trying to revive the unconscious Blaire. He then spotted something in the corner of his eye. It was a shovel. He fell down to his knees and crawled over to the rusty thing and grabbed it. Then he struggled to his feet and staggered over to Noah.
Please work..
He smashed the blocks of wood
And again
And again.
He could see Noah's body now and attempted to pull him out.
"Come on!!!", He grunted
His friend was out.
He felt Noah's pulse. It was faint but he felt it. Gunshots were becoming more loud. It seemed as if the terrorists were getting close to them.
"Luke, where do we go now?", Dana looked at him hopefully.
Looking around quickly, he saw a dark forest across the road. Luke decided they had no other option.
"In there!"
Dana and Luke carried their friends into the woods trying to escape the dangerous threat behind them. They didn't stop going until they thought felt safe. They stopped at a huge tree near a lake. It was dark and Dana turned on her flash light.
"I'm gonna try calling for help"
