The school of your dreams

So far, the entrance ceremony has been as I had expected.

Lines of students queued up just so they could listen to the speech of thanks given by the director himself. My class acted as polite as possible, as in none of them has fallen asleep yet to this dull talk. Colour me surprised.

All of them must have remembered my question to Mashima-sensei. In that case I'm flattered. The fact they kept the facts close to their hearts means this class is quite competent, though it's certainly a little early to say that. Everyone is taking this seriously from what I can tell.

"Hmm...."

Taking a look around towards the other classes, looks like I hit the nail on the head.

Class-B is well-behaved but I can see some occasional yawns every now and then. Still it's impressive how most of them can stand there smiling and acting as if they're actually grateful for the words spoken by the director. In a competition between classes, one could guess they're the biggest threat.

However appearances can be deceiving.

Class-C is doing poorly, as in most of the students has either fallen asleep while standing up or started talking to their friends before the speech even started. It seems like a messy class but they all look a bit scary, especially two of them at the front. Sunglasses are a sign of experience and a smile is all I need to know when someone is confident, maybe too much so.

Finally we have class-D. I'm not sure what to say about this class except for it's a total mess. Most of them already passed out and some even brought snacks into the gymnasium, not to mention their voices are loud enough to the point I could listen in on their conversations if I tried hard enough. In other words, they're the most defective in the first year period.

What Mashima-sensei told us gives me a good idea of what each class is like now. Again, appearances aren't everything. Assuming class-A students are the most perfected students among each year, most people would think class-D has no hope in surviving in this school whatsoever. To some extent that seems to be the case.

From what I can tell, none of the students in class-D are taking this seriously...apart from a set few.

Normally, especially in a school like this, class-D probably wouldn't be able to live peacefully for the rest of the year. However everyone knows how defective products can be made into items of wonder. Some of them could even be polished into something more valuable....

In other words, class-D is as dangerous as the other classes. If given the proper nurturing, they could be a much larger threat.

Maybe that's just me being cautious.

"Finally, we would like to welcome student council president Horikita Manabu up to the stage to give his speech."

The moment after this is said, a man wearing the default male school uniform walks up to the stage.

Student council president? He looks like more the protagonist out of a BL manga from some angles. There's no mistaking his stern gaze though, he's the real deal.

"Good morning to you all. First, I would like to congratulate all of you for passing the entrance examination and entering this school."

Incredible. That's the word I would describe this man as. Nothing more nothing less.

Is his gaze wasn't enough to give someone the creeps then his voice would certainly do the job. Similar to an army general, I can tell at a first glance this man is commanding. All of this is only to be expected of someone at the top of the student food chain.
