Natasha's POV
"What is it?" I asked, adjusting Aribelle on my bed.
"Uhm, okay, here goes it. I'm joining the mafia." He quickly said.
Eyebrows slightly pinched and a worried look on his face for my input. His fingers play with each other and his right leg bounces up and down, as the silence grows between us.
"I know." I say.
His face change from nervous to shocked in less than a second. "What?"
"I know, my dad asked me before he asked you. It took a lot of time but it's not my choice and I really love you." I smile, scooting closer to his body.
"So, I've been scared you'd break up with me but you knew?"
I hold down a laugh and nod to him. "Yes, I've known."
"You're really lucky Aribelle is here." He said, pulling me closer to his body where my heart starts to speed up.
"Am I?" I whisper.
"Very." His warm and soft lips touch mine that gave a spark through my entire body. I pull back before the 2nd kiss.
"You will be great with my dad and uncles, they already love you so it's no biggie." I said.
"That's for the family side. This is business, they're gonna treat me like shit."
"True, but at least you have San, Bucky, and Sam. I think I saw Ty on the roster as well." I said.
"Bucky and Ty?"
"Yeah, but Steve.."
He looks at me with those calming blue eyes. "Why aren't you joining the military like you wanted to?"
"I'd rathed die protecting you than anything else."
"Don't. I don't want to hear the whole dying while protecting stuff. I need you to settle in first. Okay?"
He nods and smiles at me. I get butterflies in my stomach, smiling, as they flutter around inside me.
"I love you." He says.
"I love you more."
"How 'bout you and I go for a drive?" He asks and I nod.
We took Aribelle back to her parents room, tucked her in with her Sofia the First covers.
"We're gonna go out for a little." I told the others.
"Hey, I need to talk to you when you get back home." Yelena whispered and I nod, squeezing her hand go show support.
"Be safe, princess." Mama calls out.
I look at papa and see him stare something to Steve that he nods and takes my hand.
"Where are we going?" I smile, jumping up and down like kid again.
"It's a surprise."
Getting closer to his car, I get a text. Unknown number.
Thanks for the distraction
"Steve, wait!" I shouted but he'd already opened my side of the door.
I blink once, I see figures running out of my house. Blurry and a blazing car. Twice, and Steve's lying still. Mama, papa, aunty Elle, and uncle Mateo.. Shouting and running around.
"Princess, can you hear me?" I heard.
"Aribelle." I whisper..

I know it's been like YEARS since I updated but I'm getting there and I'm just trying to find a way to balance this all out so with that saying, I hope y'all enjoy this new chapter.
