Kinda Love You

Nat's POV
It's been a few days since Aribelle suddenly came back. I haven't been focusing on school or anything at all, and I'm starting to fail my classes.

We didn't have school today and my parents had left to see our report cards. Aunty and Uncle left for San's report card and took Aribelle with them. They haven't left her side since she got back.

"Who's gonna be grounded?" San asked as he bit into his apple.

"Me." I said. I'm failing all my classes and failed all my midterms.

"Me, as well." Yelena says.

"And I on the other hand..will also be grounded." San said with a smile. He and Yelena can get their grades up the second they get told to. Me? It takes forever for me.

"Phones." That was the first thing Papa said once they entered the house.

Yelena and I gave our phones to Papa while San gave his to Uncle Mateo. We got sent to our room and to do all the shit that we needed to make up. I went downstairs to get a snack and on my way back to my room, I saw Yelena and San working in their rooms. Once I got back to my room, I had all my assignments and books set out on my bed but I just laid down on them.

I heard a knock before Mama came in. "How far have you gone?"

I gave out a dry laugh. "Haven't even started."

"And how are you, princess?"

"Good. I'm getting there."

"Don't think you can lie to me."

"I don't have an answer for you, Mama. I just don't."

"And Steve?"

"We called last night and he told me about training with his dad, papa, uncle Mateo, and uncle Derek..at once. And we had plans today but oh you know, I'm grounded."

"Hey, I know you can get those grades up and make up all that shit. They don't know what we were going through but papa just wants the best for you, okay?"

"I know, Mama."

"Sorry, princess, I've got a meeting. Hey, Wanda's moving in today so help her out okay?"

"Yeah."

Wanda came and San, Yelena, and I helped her move into the guest room next to mine.

During dinner, Aribelle was starting to be like her usual self, San and Yelena were tense but they smiled their way through it. Aunty Elle was finally smiling as she did and so did everyone else. Wanda and I talked about all the stuff I missed in our classes and mostly about how she did not understand it. After that, I got a special surprise at my window.

"Hi, angel." He said.

I wrapped my arms around his neck to kiss him. He walked us to my bed and set me down. Our lips still move at a steady pace until he pulls away from me.

"When are you returning to school?" He asked as we both sat up.

"I don't know. Probably tomorrow." I said. "But I've got a hella of a catch-up to do."

"I've got all the notes you need and explanations for you." He said.

"God, I love you."

"I kinda love you."

I smack his arm while he laughs. His phone chimes and checks it.

"I gotta go. I did tell you about my dad getting me to train every night right?"

"Yes, and how much you hate it because you want to be sneaking into my room and doing all the nasty shit you dream to do with me."

"I was 50% kidding about that. I just want to spend time with you." He said as he got up towards my window. "When you get ungrounded, we'll have so many dates. How's that sound?"

"Like so much sex."

"Good. Keep that mindset."

I watched him climb down the tree close to my window and go to his car. And with that, I was motivated to do my homework.

Here's another update!! I hope yall liked it. This book's ending might be rushed because everything has changed and I've been more focused on her parent's book.
