My name is Charlie Cadman, I am twelve years old and a student at Blackwell Academy of Demon Hunting. Today is my last day. I start it by waking up and tiredly floundering towards my bathroom. I grab a comb and begin to brush my medium, shoulder length brunette hair, making sure not to touch anywhere near my wolf ears.
Then I rub my heterochromatic grey and brown eyes and brush my teeth. After that I make my way to my closet to put on my uniform, which was hanging on the door. As I button up my overcoat and put on my shoes, I hear my mother yell at me from downstairs, saying that breakfast is ready. I finish tying up my shoes and quickly go downstairs to grab my toast, give a kiss on the cheek to my mom and go out the door.
Now I'm walking down the cobblestone street, with the warm morning sun blanketing me. As I reach the school, I notice my childhood friend Anna-Lise waiting for me at the gate. Anna-Lise is a French guardian angel who comes from a long line of demon hunters like myself. She has beautiful brown and blonde hair with purple and blue eyes so starry you could get lost in them. She notices me and quickly puts her hand up into the air to wave to me, and I wave back. I also see my other friend Fern.
Fern is a cow(yes, she has cow ears and a tail), with deep emerald green eyes, beautiful dark skin and a natural fro. She is a nature mage who has a severe obsession with mushrooms and a speciality in exotic flowers and vines. "Oh, Charlie!" Fern exclaims. "Didn't expect you to be here this early." "Oh shush Fern, she always arrives early!" Anna-Lise snaps back right after Fern finishes her sentence. "It's good to see you again Charlie!" Anna-Lise beams as she pulls me in for a hug.
"It's good to see you too, Anna-Lise" I reply. "Today is the big day!" Anna-Lise exclaims, jumping up and down subtly as we are walking down the hall to our classroom. "We finally get to go out into the world and make a name for ourselves!" "Well, not before we finish our last class." Fern says as she adjusts her tie. "I heard a kid in class say that Mr. Jefferson had something incredibly important that he's saving for the last lesson."
"How intriguing.." I ponder as we walk into the classroom right as the bell rang and we sit down. "Good morning class." Mr. Jefferson announced as he closes a book named 'Demon Hunting 101'. "As you already are aware, today is the last day of school." "Meaning tomorrow, you will go out into the vast world, holding the knowledge that you have learned in your 6 years here, and make yourself a name as a respectable demon hunter."
"But before you can be able to do that." He walks around the classroom, examining every single student. "You must learn, The Rule of Three."
"Uhm, sir?" Anna-Lise asked as she puts her hand up inquisitively. "What is The Rule of Three?"
"My dear Anna-Lise, for you, and everyone else, is about to learn." Mr. Jefferson reassured as he wrote on the chalkboard 'The Rule of Three'. "The Rule of Three is the three most important things a demon hunter must understand in order to stay safe and smart in the big world". he points to the chalkboard. "Rule number one, your weapon is your most important asset. If you lose your weapon, you might as well have lost your life." He asserted as he picks up a dagger and fumbles with it briefly before putting back down. "Rule number two, always be on your guard. For you can never truly trust your surroundings".
He assured, looking at Fern. "And finally, Rule Number Three."
"Never, under any circumstances, trust a demon." He says with a more, serious tone than before. "If they say anything to you about anything to make you believe something different, never listen. It's always some sort of manipulation tactic." He now is staring straight at me, like this rule is deliberately targeted at me. "Demons are Deceitful, Cold, and Murderous."Authors note: TYSM FOR READINGG💗💗💗 I'm sorry that this chapter was short but trust me the next chapter is going to be toe tickling😼 also yes these OCs can be seen on my YT channel (subscribe btw)
