It took some convincing but I eventually got her to listen to me as I explained what Pops had told me about this arrangement  the night I left her apartment to find him in the living room waiting on me.

He told me how inseparable  our parents were. They did everything together and after getting married they conceived just a few months apart. When they found out the gender of their pregnancies our mother's came up with a plan that Amanda and I would get married at 21 years of age. They were so serious that before we were even born a contact was drawn up and both sets of parents signed it.  Amanda was born early due to complications in her mothers health. After I was born our umbilical cords were buried together along with strands of our hair  in a ceremony in the belief that we would forever be joined by a soul tie.
To say I was flabbergasted would be an understatement. Amanda's mother passed away when she was only 7 months old but my mother took over taking care of her until she was two years old. Her aunt by her fathers side started to care for her while her father worked. Amanda mother side of family had disowned their daughter because her husband was not as wealthy as them. The fact that he was of maroon decent was another point of contention for her family. Chosing love over her family's wishes she had continued the relationship, they had disowned her after she got married to him. A year after Amanda when to live with her father and his family my parents both died. My grandfather took on the responsibility of taking care of me himself. Our parents had made investments for us that we would get once we were married. According to Pops our parents had left nothing to chance. He  had given me the envelope so i could see what he meant. It contained our Marriage documents along with all the assets we owned as a couple as well as separate. He explained to me that on my 21st birthday both Amanda and I had signed these docs without knowing. I was dumb founded  at what I saw and heard.  I was wealthy all my life but Pops has always ensured that I was money smart and that I did not abuse my wealth but what I was looking at was a different level of wealth.
There were other things that I heard that night that I promised my grandfather I would never mention to anyone else.
As I recounted the story for her leaving out what was not relevant I watched as her  beautiful eyes popped out in astonishment. I was glad that she was not freaking out. I intentionally left out just how much money our parents had left us. I wanted her to see it for herself.

“Just open the envelope babe. There are letters in there one from our mothers and one from your father sent a few weeks before he passed.” I said feeling truly exhausted.

At that moment the sunrise caught my attention through the glass door. I liked watching the sun come up and go down. It always seems to give a sense of calm to my ever so restless spirit. People always admired my calm and relaxed demeanour. I always laughed inwardly at that because the war that was raging in my head was constant. taking every bit of self control to keep it caged in my brain and not spilling out into my everyday life. That is why I loved the gym because  there I could work out the anger that  I struggle to keep caged other wise. Weed helped but I don't always like smoking.

As I thought about this I absentmindedly opened the balcony  door and walked out. I stood at the glass railing watching the sun come up in all its glory. I felt her hands wrapping around my waist and her head resting on my back. My hands immediately went to hers and all the tension drained out of my body, I instantly smiled at the contact. At this moment everything was perfect.
I had read the letter our parents had written and I had realized how much they had loved us even before we were born. Thinking so far ahead making sure we would have each other even if they weren't here. It was rather extreme but I completely get it. I just wish I can live up to this responsibility. Amanda is so pure i don't wanna corrupt her with my fuckery.

Jah

I turned around to face her, not breaking the hug. I wrapped my arms around her, kissing her forehead. I closed my eyes and said a silent prayer that she would be open to trying this with me.
