Woot! It's longer than usual. It's like six pages on microsoft, so I'm hoping it's at leastthree on here. So, I have an issue. I was gonna make Raven all shy, and mousy, ya know? But apparently, I can only make my characters sarcastic and...funny? Which is ironic, because I'm more of the shy type? Anyhoo, sorry if this seems a little forced, it's because I'm trying to stick with her 'quiet' personality...

....Also, this isn't edited or anything. It never is xD So if anyone reads this and catches something, leave it in a comment :)

Chapter Four

I don’t know how long I ran, but after what seemed like hours I had to stop. I skidded to a stop in the middle of whatever road I was on. I bent over, resting my hands on knees, and breathing like I had just run a marathon.

When I had finally managed to get my breath back enough to be able to breathe properly, I tried taking in my surroundings. Surprisingly, it had started to get dark, so at first I couldn’t tell where I was. I looked around, finally spotting a street sign a couple yards away. After squinting at it for a minute, I realized I was only a few minutes’ walk from my friend’s house. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for the similar rejection that I would probably receive from her. I walked down the road, being careful not to fall in the dark.

By the time I made it to her house, my palms were sweating and I was starting to breathe heavily. Calm, be calm, I told myself. I rubbed my palms on my pants, swallowing down the bile in my throat. I knocked hesitantly on the door, before realizing she wouldn’t be able to hear it. I knocked harder, hoping I wouldn’t be disturbing her. The door opened, and her eyes widened in surprise when she saw. “Oh, hey there. Um, were we supposed to hang out today? Don’t I feel like a jerk, I didn’t even remember…” she said, trailing off. I smiled slightly, remembering that this wouldn’t be the first time that someone forgot they were supposed to hang out with me. “No, that’s not it. I’m really sorry to just come over like this, but I had nowhere else to go Lexi,” I said, looking at my feet. I heard her sharp intake of breath, and waited for her to slam the door in my face. “Are you okay? How ‘bout you come in and we’ll talk?” That surprised me; I really thought that she would tell me to leave. I nodded, walking by her as she stepped out of the way. “Are your parents home?” I asked. She shook her head. “No, they won’t be home for a few hours.” I followed her up the stairs to her room, and sat on her bed. She sat next to me, turned slightly to face me. “What happened?” I sighed, not quite knowing how to start. I didn’t want to blurt it right out and risk her kicking me out, but I had to tell her eventually, right? “It’s kind of a complicated situation…” I began. She nodded, “I figured as much. You said you had nowhere else to go, how about you start with that?”

I laughed shortly, “Well, in a way my parents kicked me out. Not in so many words, but I’m not welcome back into their home.” I lifted my head, peeking through my hair to see her reaction. Her face didn’t change, if only looking slightly confused. “Maybe you should just start from the beginning then,” she said. I nodded again. I had to take another deep breath, and look at my hands before I could speak again. “You know I’m a virgin right? And that I would never do anything like that, especially so young?” Her brow furrowed, more confused. “Of course; you’d tell me if something like that happened.” I let out a breath that I hadn’t realized I was holding. “Hold on to that thought, okay? I…I don’t know how to say this. I don’t understand this at all, myself…But—don’t hate me—somehowimpregnant,” I mumbled. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise, but narrowed again seconds after. “I can’t believe you,” her harsh words took me by surprise. Lexi was the kind, compassionate one of the group; I’d never heard her speak this way to anyone before. “I thought you were my friend. Friends don’t just spring this on their other friends like this. You said we could tell each other anything, and you didn’t bother to tell me that you had sex?” Each word hit me like a kick to the gut. “Lexi let me explain—”
