Port Mombassa

Cleopatra and others in the Jordon navy submarine

Mombasa is a very old port city in East Africa coast. It is cosmopolitan and crowdy. Kenya is a common destination for Indians, especially Gujrati business class, Chinese, Arabian, Portuguese and British. Now Swahili, West African, East African and French mixed Africans creole language made traders communications easy. Rukmini Krishna, Mr. Murali and other crews with Maya and Swapna took Mumbai bound flight.
Cleopatra took Chen and other young persons red eye and Maria. Red eye is from the near extinct North American Indian clan and Maria is from Kazakhstan. They came to an old bear pub. One Greek boy was waiting in a table. He welcomes them. He said his name is Victor Helionious. He has two cargo ships transport wood, rubber and grocery items between Port of Athens and Mombasa. Cleopatra acquainted others Victor as her fiancée. Victor said he already made all formalities for them to stay in India, visa and other permits. He also arranged a yacht to take them up to Mauritius as Cleopatra said. Everybody thanked Victor. They came to the port. Big cranes loading unloading containers from cargo ships, Chinese and Afro labourers shouting. Gujrati traders are busy with their cargos. Seagulls and turns are chirping in shrill sound. They came to motor propelled yacht. Not big, barely 22 feet in length. They boarded. The yacht sailed through the Indian Ocean. The morning sun floated silver foils over the waves with silver flying fishes. Water, blue water so far you can see in bare eyes and seagulls and albatross flying with the hope of fishing.
Few nautical miles NNW of Mauritius islands captain of the yacht shouted madam your killer whale is waiting. Cleopatra, Chen, and the cheetah with her cub came to the bridge. They saw dazzling silver colour submarine with Jordanian navy flag is waiting. Two persons in white waving their hands to the yacht. Cleo waved her hand back with smile.
After few hours they met Captain of the submarine in the dining. This is a diesel fuelled submarine with four engines which can compete any nuclear submarine in speed and agility. It can go deep which is not revealed by the captain. They were taking coffee with cookies. The cheetah cub was hanging from Cleo's lap. She was trying to understand whether cookies or coffee is edible to her. One Steward served milk for the cub.
The submarine has five parts, first part is the bunks for the crews and three small cabins. One salon is for the captain, Cleo and her new friends occupied rest two cabins. Boys got their bunks. Blue light is everywhere. Second part is dining, pantry, and a small conference room. The control room is also in his part. Few crews are busy with computers, telecommunication devices and the periscope which enable them to see the surface over from beneath the sea. Third part is engine room and adjacent airtight chambers. They are used for sinking purpose and Scooba divers also get down from the submarine. While sinking, the airtight chambers open gates and full of water as the captain calculate to go how much deep under the sea. When release water, the submarine come up to shallow depth or float like a boat. The fifth part is the bridge. It is at the top and can be approached from the passage between control room and crew bunkers. Excess to that four propellers are attached with the engine behind. The submarine has two missile launching system and one anti-aircraft gun can be attached in the bridge. Two cannons are also there. Everything is sealed in airtight chambers. At two sides torpedo release chambers are there. They can be controlled both electronically and electromechanically from the control room. The submarine looks like a small killer whale. Nearly every submarine in the world in 2022 Calcutta situation is designed same with few variations. Except Chinese, Russian and US Aircraft carrier submarines.
Captain, Cleo and others were taking their coffee and foods in recycled and recyclable cups and dishes. Plastic use is strictly prohibited in submarine. 'We are making enough pollution with the diesel fuel,' Captain said, so no more plastic at least. Red head smiled.
