I looked up at the ceiling of the train as we were rushed to the Capitol. Finnick sat across from me, chatting with Annie about the food in the capital. Ethan sat next to me, singing some random song that's popular in the Capitol. Molly came in with a remote and sat down.

"Shall we see the competition?" She asked in her always cheery and peppy voice.

Ethan looked up from having a thumb war with himself and stopped singing. "Ah, yes we must see our doomed friends." He said, grinning a devilish smile.

Molly sat down, pulling up a chair to our table. She turned on a recording of the Reapings, and we watched intently. The only interesting people were the girls from District 1 and District 12. The girl from 1 was about Ethan's height, with dirty blond hair pulled back into a bun. Something in her eyes seemed greedy and lethal as she stared out into the crowd innocently.

"I really hope the arena is water based." I muttered, thinking about all the different ways this girl could kill me.

"Hayley Byers, I think I found my enemy." Ethan said, looking like he would kill someone.

We watched through the rest, most of the tributes looked like they had never eaten, and I pitied them. Eating was like breathing to me. The girl from 12 intrigued me. She was tall, thin, and pretty. She had a look of innocence and horror as they called, "Caraline Mee."

Her long, black hair draped past her shoulders messily as the Peacekeepers dragged her to the stage, along with a boy who looked as if he was on death's door.

"Not much competition this year." Finnick remarked.

"Yeah, besides each other. If it came to a fight I would lose for sure." I muttered.

Finnick glanced at me sympathetically as I got up and walked to the next car. I glanced around, well aware that I was in the food car. I grabbed a chair and sat next to the chocolate fountain. I grabbed a piece of bacon and covered it in chocolate. I couldn't stop thinking about Caraline and Hayley. Ethan, being the over competitive guy he is will instinctively take out the biggest threat, Hayley. But Caraline, she seemed, different. She reminded me of Aaron's partner in his Games, Kiera. She was from District 12, and a happy girl, a lot like Caraline in appearance and apparent personality. Aaron was killed by his district partner, and Kiera killed her after. Kiera won the next day. I grabbed a candy bar, covering it in chocolate.

"Chocolate on chocolate? You must be stressed or upset." I heard Finnick say as he walked into the food car. He grabbled a chair and sat down beside me.

"What's on your mind there sissy?" I sighed and replied, "The girl from 12 reminds me of Kiera."

Finnick sat for a moment, a shadow of grief covering his eyes.

"You think she would be a good partner?" He eventually responded.

I nodded and said, "I'll live though. I will win these Hunger Games. I need to, for you."

He looked at me, suddenly protective as he said, "But you'll have to kill Hayley, your partner Caraline, and Ethan. Are you sure you could do that?"

I sat for a moment. This was what I was trying not to think about.

"Ethan will kill Hayley, or vise versa. The survivor will be to weak to live or will die somehow. Caraline too. I'd kill them all, no matter hard it may be, to come back home to you."

I said, my voice cracking. Finnick closed his eyes tight. "It'll all be different once you get in the games. Everything you have felt over the last few weeks is no longer important. You feel vulnerable, even hunted for a while. Everyone you meet tries to kill you, and you don't know who you can trust."

He obviously was thinking of his partner in his games, Marcus, who had killed Mikaela in her sleep, and almost him. I stood up, grabbing the container of candy bars, and walked back to where the others were, Finnick following me. Ethan sat with Molly, singing along to another Capitol song. Annie sat in a chair, watching recaps of the past games.

"Shhh, quiet guys hear this." Finnick said, turning up the volume.

"I think the most interesting tributes would have to be the ones from 4. You may underestimate the boy, but he reminds me of the girl from 1. The girl from 4, Jillian Odair, is fascinating. The fourth of her siblings to enter our games. Let's watch."

An announcer on the TV said. A clip from Aaron's Games played, him and Kiera walking through the forest, looking for food. A tribute, the girl from our District, jumped out and stabbed Aaron. Kiera shot her and rushed to his side.

"Win." He whispered. Then he looked up.

"Take care of our sisters, Finnick." Then he fell still.

Finnick burst into tears and I felt myself tearing. Then a clip of Finnick, Mikaela, and Marcus walking through a desert showed up. Finnick turned away, not able to watch. The trio made camp for the night. The clip sped up to later that night, and Marcus was stabbing Mikaela, who screamed. Finnick woke up before he almost died too.

"Quite a rocky road for this family." The announcers chuckled. "Best of luck to our fourth Odair, and everyone in these Games."
