Distraction-Cam Newton-For Briana

Today is a lovely Sunday summer afternoon, and I'm getting ready for a home preseason game for the Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints. Why am I getting ready for a game you ask? In case if you guys didn't know, I'm Briana Galette, younger sister of New Orleans linebacker Junior Galette. I'm 5'7, I have brown eyes, dark skin, poetic justice braids, fit and lean, and I'm a soccer player. I play as a senior midfielder for the Duke Blue Devils Women's Soccer Team with my best friend Alex Kuechly, younger sister of Luke Kuechly, who is a 5'10 senior right fullback defender. She has long and curly brown hair in beach waves with blonde and red highlights, ice blue eyes, deep tan, and is also fit and athletic, and much to her brother's dismay, then eventual approval, she is going out with senior Wisconsin Badgers Shooting Guard Josh Gasser since she used to play basketball as a shooting guard/small forward back at St. Xavier High School, and those two met in the National Championship title game since she came out to support her younger cousin Zak "Showy" Showalter with her family, and from there, he decided to move to North Carolina to find a nice apartment for him and Alex since he proposed to her at a college soccer championship cup tournament classic against the Badgers, and he is going to have a job soon, and Alex is going to be drafted pretty soon, but her knowing that kicking ball for her will stop at one point, she is a double major in Nursing and Sports Medicine since she is planning to be a sports physician assistant when she retires from her career, and I a double major in Officiating and Communications since I'm planning to coach college soccer at Duke once I retire from my career . We both are also very highly rated draft prospects for Sky Blue FC. Soccer is in Alex and I's blood, and it has always been our dream to play in an elite professional club ever since we met as freshman in the sorority Alpha Delta Pi, and we kind of drove our housemates crazy by screaming at Real Madrid games on TV every other weekend if we're not doing anything, and the same would go for when Alex and I would have play FIFA 15 with our other student athlete friends. Anyway, back to the game, did I mention that Alex and I are huge Carolina Panthers fans? Today, Alex and I were lucky enough to get good seats that are close to the Panthers bench. I really needed to go to the lady's room at one point, so of course, I went, and knew who it would be perfectly when it was halftime. It happened to be none other than Cam Newton,and he asked if I needed directions, and I nodded and sheepishly said yes. As soon as I got back, he was right where I left him. He smiled wide, and we talked and talked until halftime was over, and we planned on meeting again, and I was able to get his number too! Even though his team lost, he managed to make a nice touchdown the day of the game. The two weeks we hung out were very fun and amazing, and I couldn't wait for more days like that to come around. He really liked me, and I really liked him, and tonight, he's officially going to meet my brother for the first time, and Alex and Josh are also coming if anything should arise. This should be interesting. I really hoped my brother would become friends with him because I really want this relationship to last. He's a beast on the field, but off the field, he is like a big, cuddly teddy bear on the inside. He's really sweet, can treat girls really well, and just a really big softie that I fell head over heels for at first sight. "Junior?" I called into his house. "Yes Bri?" He called back. "Tonight, I want you to come over for dinner!" I said. "What time?" He responded. "Let's say six." I responded. "Alright little sis. I'll see you later." Now, I'm headed back to the college so that I can go to Alex and I's dorm. I texted Cam the time. I locked my phone for 3 more hours of class, then it's off to the weekend. Alex and I had a final game against the Florida State Seminoles Saturday since it's ACC Championships, and Cam has a game on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, and Alex and I really needed to be on our A game to impress the scouts watching and who are representing Sky Blue FC. I was excited especially since Cam was coming to support me. That means a lot knowing he would try to come games and be supportive. I really hope that Junior will approve of him. Those few hours left went by fairly quickly with the nervousness rolling around in my head. I was terrified that my brother would scare Cam since he can be pretty intimidating. I just didn't want him to be scared of my brother because once you get to get to know him, he's the coolest guy you'll know. I quickly drive back to my house with Alex to have her help me with dinner, and we both were super hot and sweaty from practice. We both washed up pretty quickly, and I decided to wear a crisscross-back distressed tank top, black skinny jeans, and a taupe and black abstract print kimono, and a pair of faux suede bow booties, all from Forever 21. Alex decided to wear a floral print v neck romper with short sleeves, a spiked denim vest, and tall faux suede boots in chestnut, also all from Forever 21. I looked in the mirror, and decided that I should put my braids up into a bun, and I did a quick fishtail braid for Alex since that hairstyle really brings out Alex's highlights aside from her usual beach waves. We both quickly did our makeup and nails, and headed downstairs to make some dinner for our boyfriends. We both decided to make baked lasagna alla bolognese, a quick grape and almond spinach mixed salad for a side, and for dessert, we have great peach gelato from Mariano's that's been freezing in my freezer since I bought it this morning before I went to class, and I also bought some really good limonata from there too that morning to keep in the fridge up until our dinner. Good thing our dinner didn't take all day to make. My phone went off, and I decided to see who it's from. "Be there in 5 :)" from Cam. I smiled and looked at my watch. 5:33, he was coming early. That was fine with me, though I should maybe warn him about my brother. As soon as my thinking was over, and I went to put the lasagna into the oven, I heard a knock on the door, and opened it to see a handsome looking Cam, and Alex's boyfriend pulling up into the driveway. I invited him inside and walked in and he kissed me on the cheek. I called for Alex, and as soon as she saw Josh, she hugged and he kissed her cheek, and they both went to the kitchen with us. "It smells amazing!" Cam said. I laughed and said "I hope you like lasagna." "There's not a delicious food I wouldn't eat!" he said drooling slightly and licking his lips. Alex was finishing up the last of the salad, and as soon as she was about to toss the grapes in, Josh was being such a gentleman, and he insisted that he toss them in, and next thing you know, they were goofing around a little by throwing the grapes and catching it in their mouths, then they stopped with some laughing, then they just talked and catched up from there while setting the table. They both got ready for Junior to come over. "Okay, so my brother is coming, you might have played against him at one point, he's Junior Gallete, New Orleans Linebacker. He can be very... intimidating. I'm warning you now that he can be very overprotective, but once you crack him open, he is the coolest guy ever." I said, telling him before it's too late. "Briana, I want to meet your brother, and I want to get to know him, I don't care what he's like... I want him to approve of me so that I can officially make you my girlfriend." He said, giving me a sweet smile. "You're the best." I said hugging him tight. As soon as I puliked away, I heard a knock on the door. I mentally sighed knowing how this can go. I walked to the door and opened it. I smiled at my brother and led him in. "Junior, this is Cam, Cam, this is my brother Junior." I said introducing them. Cam stuck out his hand. "It's nice to finally meet you." He said. My brother gruffly grabbed his hand. "Football player too huh?" He said looking Cam up and down. "Yes, I am." "You're going to distract my sister." Cam looked kinda scared and confused, and Josh gave him a look, but Alex went up to him, put her hand on his cheek, turned his face to her, and mouthed to him it's ok, he'll be fine, then they went back to setting the table. "J, he has his own priorities too!" I said trying to get him to see that Cam won't distract me from my career. "Briana, I want the best for you, and this young man is not." He said turning and sitting at the table. Cam looked generally shocked. I looked at him and when he noticed, he smiled at me. I mouthed to him sorry, and he smiled again. Alex and I quickly went to the kitchen to get the salad and the lasagna and we set it at the table. Alex and Josh lightheartedly chatted while Cam, Junior, and I ate in awkward silence. Til Cam spoke up and said sweetly "You play really good." "Thanks." Was all Junior said. "J, tomorrow is my last game, and Cam is going." I said proud. "This game is the most important, and you're letting him come? Emphasizing the 'him'. He also said "This could bust your career by having him around!" looking towards Cam, who looked slumped into his seat. After a good while of Josh and Alex trying to convince him that I'm no longer a little girl, can make my own decisions, and Cam proving himself to my brother, he eventually approved of Cam. The game went pretty smooth, we win 5-2, where Junior and Cam became friend, and Cam is there cheering me on as my official boyfriend. 3 months later, Alex and I finally get drafted to Sky Blue FC, our dream team!
