[ boyxboy ] When a big family wedding brings eighteen-year-old Jordan Maxwell to the city of the east coast of Spain he never expects to fall in love with more than the lush Mediterranean weather and the juiciest, sweetest oranges in the world. The...
I started writing this book because I had a terrible feeling of sadness and melancholy in me after writing my previous two books. I had to step away from those darker topics (although those are my favourite to read and write about).
So I wrote a few chapters of Summer in our bones to help me move past that, and to prove to myself that I can write something different, something a bit more Wattpad-y, romantic and fluffy, something that will put a smile on my face.
I'm so glad I did it. The more I wrote about these characters the more I fell in love with them and their love. They are so sickly sweet I want to pull my hair out sometimes! Honestly! I ask myself why did I create this mushy, cheesy monster?! Because it's not realistic. Guys, what are the odds that both of their families are going to be accepting of their relationship, or that a football player of Real Madrid kisses his boyfriend in the Champions League final after he wins the match (and scores a goal in the last minute?!) That's some Hallmark shit right there but you know what? I kind of like it like that. I wanted everything to just click, I wanted all the clichés and all the fluff and just some good, flawless characters for a change. Yes, I wanted a fairytale. A simple love story in summer for all the gloomy, sad, cold days when I will need comfort.
And I hope you will see this story like that too. A piece of summer to warm you up and make you smile.
Thank you to everyone who was with me while this book was being created. The comments and votes and positivity meant so much! I love you and I will hopefully see you in my next book! 🧡
