College student, Bruce Hanjo, was riding down the street on his motorcycle with a package delivery of okonomiyaki. The day was peaceful with sakura trees blossoming over him. Bruce arrives at the campus and parks his motorcycle at the school's parking lot.
~~Scene Change~~
Ukyo: How pretty. It touches me deeply every time I see it. I can't believe how beautiful a water crystal is. Isn't it?!
The woman looking into the microscope gazes up and nods.
School Colleague: But, you sure are passionate, Kuonji-san. Even if it's for your research, it seems like you're here everyday!
Ukyo: Yes. I'm sorry. I'd like to write as accurate an article as possible.
School Colleague: But it really is surprising. How can water crystals affect its surroundings like this?
Bruce: It's because water is alive.
The two women looked at the door as Bruce walks in with the okonomiyaki that Ukyo's father had made for them.
Ukyo: Hanjo-san.
Bruce: Taken to an extreme, when something beautiful is reflected in the water... that water crystal becomes even more beautiful. Did you know human bodies are sixty percent water? When people see beautiful things, they feel happier. Perhaps the water crystal is creating a change on a physical level?
Ukyo: Then... you're saying if we include beauty in our lives, we can be happy?
Bruce: Right? Ummm... Doesn't it bore you to hear this every day?
Ukyo: No. I enjoy it. Quite a lot. I really like hearing you talk, Hanjo-san. Thanks to you, I think my article will be really good. Hanjo-san, do you plan to just continue this research?
Bruce: This year I'll be finished with graduate school. I plan to stay in the university and continue my research.
Ukyo: Good luck. I'll be cheering for you with Kuonji-san.
Bruce: Thank you.
Ukyo: I think I'll write a good article, so please look forward to it.
Bruce: I'll be counting on you. Take care.
Bruce watched her walk out the door.
School Colleague: You should ask her out on a date. She's your type, right?
Bruce: That's not how it is... But, it seems Ukyo-san will be getting married soon... She's such a sincere person, I hope she's happy.
~~Scene Change~~
Ukyo was with her fiance as they were in a car.
Ukyo's Fiance: You want to wear a dress like a water crystal?
Ukyo: It's because water crystals are really amazing. I'll show you.
She takes out her notes and shows them to her fiance.
Ukyo: I received this for my research.
She shows him a photo of a snowflake forming.
Ukyo's Fiance: I bet the editor is curious... I bet a researcher for that must be quite strange.
Ukyo: I thought so at first too, but... Hanjo-san, the researcher, gave me such a thorough explanation. You can really feel that he loves his research.
~~Scene Change~~
Bruce was driving into a tunnel when a bright light shunned in front of him. He couldn't see, but could hear footsteps walking towards him.
???: Congratulations, Bruce Hanjo-kun!
Bruce looked at the man confused as the man was holding a bouquet of roses in his hands.
???: This time you have been chosen to be a new Shocker member! Now, everyone, let's give a round of applause!
An echo of clapping erupted as more individuals appeared. All wearing black and had gas masks covering their faces.
Bruce: Who are you guys?!
The man with the bouquet raised one hand and the clapping ceased.
???: Oh, how rude, I didn't introduce myself yet. I am a... Shocker...
The man throws the bouquet into the air and reveals his true form that of a bat-like figure. Bruce revs up his motorcycle and speeds off, but is knocked off by the bat-man.
Bat: Welcome... Bruce Hanjo-kun.
Bruce loses conscious and the Bat throws the bouquet to the ground next to his unconscious body.
~~Scene Change~~
Bruce: What are you doing? Stop. Stop it!
Bruce was strapped to a machine and it proceeded to do something to his body.
