Dark shuffles where he is sitting on the bench in the empty courtyard and decides to focus his attention on spinning his water bottle. Their group had just finished a tour of the large abandoned mental hospital and were preparing their cameras, portable microphones, and what Anti called 'spooker locators' out in preparation to stay the night. Dark, for one, didn't know why or how he had agreed to this idea. Despite being somewhat of a ghost, he didn't believe in the stereotypical ghosts. There was always a logical explanation for everything; all those ghost videos Blank showed him on the way here were very clearly faked. Exaggerated at best. And he was sure if anything were to happen with the special equipment, it would be due to Anti or Blank's glitching instead of an actual ghost.
Speaking of his... associates... because Dark still felt strange about calling them his friends, their small group was spread out around the courtyard. Anti sat across from him on his phone, occasionally sipping at his coffee and sending a glance Dark's way. Dark made sure the mic packs worked, while Anti ensured the cameras were charged and working. Blank was sitting on the floor with Dark Dan 'DD' and Blaze, explaining how the special equipment worked; something about electromagnetic fields from what he remembered.
The three of them were discussing where the best places to put the equipment were based on what the tour guide told them during their tour about the 'ghost activity,' Dark assumed. Infelix and Kill PJ were talking to the tour guide.. well... Infelix was. KPJ was never much of a talker and preferred to listen and observe, which Dark well respected. The two of them were most likely getting some extra information before they spent the whole night in this place.
"You okay, Darkie?" He looks at the glitch and raises his eyebrow in question. They wore a black hoodie, a custom dark green baseball jacket, and his favorite pair of black ripped jeans. He was wearing an old pair of sneakers, less black and more faded, dark grey in appearance. They wore a black frog hat, glasses, and his favorite gauges. Overall, Dark thought he looked good in the outfit.
"Yes, I'm doing alright. Are you okay?" The glitch beamed and leaned closer, phone long forgotten, "I'm doing great! I can't wait to start! It's going to be so cool testing the spooker locators and- Hey! We should totally try that thing the tour guide said in the men's ward!"
"Touching the wall in the hallway?"
"Yeah! Wouldn't that be so scary?"
"It would certainly be interesting. What kind of results do you wish to get from it?" He asked the glitch with a tilt to the head. Anti flinches back with scrunched features and follows Dark's tilted head, both getting into a momentary battle of tilting heads. "Oh yeaaaah..." the glitch laughs and shakes his head. "I forgot you don't believe in ghosts!" Dark huffs a laugh, "I just haven't had a reason to. All previous evidence presented has either been obviously faked or has had a perfectly logical explanation." They roll their eyes playfully, "Yawn! You're so boring, Darkie!"
"Thank you."
"That wasn't a compliment! You know what?" He stands up and points at Dark as if they were some anime protagonist giving a pep talk, "Tonight will be the perfect opportunity to prove that ghosts exist! By tomorrow you will be an advid believer!"
Dark pulls Anti to sit back down, making the glitch giggle through a sip of coffee, "How do you know I won't just go home halfway through?"
"Come on now, Dark." Infelix says as he slides in next to the shade, KillPJ sliding next to Anti, "Why would you want to do that? You're not scared~ are you?" Blank, DD, and Blaze join the group at the bench; Blank and Blaze slide next to Dark while DD takes a seat next to Anti. To any onlooker, they probably looked like they were a rag-tag group of cartoon characters, with their bright colors and demonic features.
Now came the fact of the matter. Dark wasn't scared of ghosts; he didn't believe they existed in the first place. The problem here lies in... well... there was a reason Dark always refused to watch horror movies. "No, of course not. It would be completely illogical to be afraid of something that doesn't exist."
".......I'm scared of clowns..."
"Clowns exist, PB&J..."
"Please don't remind me."
"I'm scared of holes!"
"Is that why you can't get laid?"
"I will actually fucking punch you."
"Tryophobia is actually so valid man that shits uncomfy."
"I'm scared of lizard people!"
"Guys! Not the time!" DD raises his voice, making the rest of the table quiet down. He sighs, adjusting his sunglasses, "What is the plan for later? We should have an idea of our path before it gets too late." Everyone nods in agreement and settles down to think for a few moments. Anti takes off the lid of their coffee for a final sip and gestures with their head toward Infelix and KillPJ as they swallow, "Haven't you two been chatting to the tour guide? I mean personally," Anti throws the cup into the bin a bit away from the group, "I think we should hit up the nursery first. Since it's the smallest there's no point doing it later."
"Yeah, that's what I was thinking," KillPJ nodded his head, "And then after that, I was thinking we could go to the church, the women's ward, and then the men's ward."
"There's a bunch of things to test and check out in each spot, so we will have plenty of potential content! Like what the tour guide showed us in the men's ward."
"Sounds like a good plan then. Now we just set everything up and wait for the night."
"Then we can turn on the cameras, get all the footage we need, and have a fun time!" Everyone agrees to the plan, and as the sun sets, they prepare for a night of fun ghost-hunting.
