Moomintroll knew that summer was here when he couldn't sleep at night because it was so hot.
It didn't happen gradually it happened suddenly. He jumped out of bed with a spring in his step.
And ran outside. He started sprinting when Snufkin's tent came into view. When he called out for Snufkin. Snufkin climbed out of the tent. Do you want to go fishing he said. Yes, let's go replied Moomintroll. As they neared the boathouse Little My appeared she was holding two glasses of lingonberry juice "Moominmama said to drink this" and she was off again. A few minutes later they were out on the lake. Snufkin had let Moomin jump out of the boat and now he was swimming about 50 meters away." Hey " Snufkin shouted do you wanna go to Hattifaner Island.
Moomintroll agreed and they were on their way. When they reached the island they jumped out and took their lingonberry juice with them. Moomintroll ran off exploring as Snufkin started a fire. As Moomin was running he tripped on something. He stood back up he pulled up a treasure chest. " Snufkin come quick " By the time Snufkin arrived Moomin had already opened the chest. Inside was a big stash of food. " Wow " Moomintroll exclaimed. " I know what this is last year Mama bought a big food box she spent ages making a delicious picnic she said we should leave it here and check on some time " They carried it together and reached the fire. They wrapped the cinnamon apples in tin foil and placed them in the fire. They each ate loads of sandwiches and biscuits. For desert there was a huge chocolate cake with jam. After eating so much they both began to feel sleepy. So they lay down for a rest. When the woke up the sun was still shining Snufkin suggested the look for a nice rock or shell to thank Moominmama for the feast. After only ten minutes of searching Moomintroll found a beautiful pearl. At that point it started getting darker so they headed back to Moominvalley. When they arrived back at the boathouse it was dark and cold. For that reason they decided to sleep in the boathouse. Moomin took one last look at the stars before he entered the boathouse its gonna be a great summer he thought.
