Going to classes for the next week felt anti-climactic. They were gone. Plain and simple. Pixie Cut, who I learned from Bells was named Alice, and the other girl she was with, Sienna, were gone. According to Bells, they were together. Which from the body language I saw on the first day, made sense.

Hair gel was Edward. Something seemed up with him, and Bells felt the same, telling me all about her experience with him. I didn't like the vibes of him, but hey, what do I know.

The other guy was Jasper. He always looked like was in pain. It was the first thing Bells mentioned when telling me all of the gossip she had learned at lunch. He and Edward were both loners, which didn't surprise me.

There were two others that I hadn't seen yet, Rosalie and Emmett. They are all foster kids and also all together. To each their own, I guess.

Not that it even mattered, they were gone. They didn't show up for class. For a whole week. I didn't really try to be nosy, but it was the only thing that had happened to me. Bells tells me that they are all gone. That they don't show up to lunch anymore, and that the Edward guy isn't in her bio class anymore.

I've started to bring my own lunch and eat it in the truck, since finding a seat at an empty table is just too much work. Sometimes, I'll even go out and apply for jobs, since there is gas money as well as just pocket money needed.

I applied to the diner as well as the town library. We shall see which accepts me, if either. Over the weekend, mom calls, which doesn't take me by surprise, and I lie. I tell her that I have made so many new friends and that I really enjoy Forks. Bells slips up a little and that gets mom to worry. Makes me feel less guilty about lying.

Monday rolls around, and feeling really lazy, I just throw my hair into a bun and head downstairs. Pouring a bowl of cereal, Dad lets me know he'll be home late, that he has to deal with some recent animal attacks and it's been keeping him at the station a lot more.

Bells makes her way downstairs, and I finish up my breakfast.

" I'll meet you in the truck." I say to Bells, and make my way outside.

The weather, surprise, is a cloudy light rain, and I shrug on my jacket. Making my way to the car, I get in and start her up. I rub my hands together, and reach for my gloves, located in my pocket. I look into the rear view mirror as I put them on and roll down the windows to wipe the side mirrors off. Leaving my hand sticking out, I adjust them to my liking, my glove only halfway on, since I used it to wipe down the mirrors. I look into them, squinting, and see a figure behind the truck.

I gasp and turn in my seat. I twist my torso out the window, and look down the driveway, dropping my glove in the process.  No one there. I'm not crazy, I could have sworn that I saw–

"y/n, you good? I swear you're always stuck in that head of yours." Bells gets into the car and looks over at me after dropping her bag at her feet.

"Pull yourself back to Earth and into the car please. We still have school."

"Right sorry, I just, I thought that–"

Bells leans forward, concern etched onto her face. "Thought what?"

"Nothing." I smile and put the car into reverse. "Sorry."

But it wasn't nothing. After a whole week of nothing, I could have sworn that I just saw Jasper in our driveway.
