Bianca sat on her bay window, gazing at the scenery before her that only recently seemed to have an effect on her.

She ever so often, found herself lost in the chaos of the daily rush happening in the streets below her. It seemed to distract her from the thoughts that would invade her mind.

Bianca Sabella, a newly widowed twenty five year old, she had curly dark brown hair that flowed down her back. She was taller than average and her curves were evident, she was light in complexion and was normally energetic.

"Bianca?" the voice of her neighbor pulled her out of her trance.

"In here Alice!" she shouted in hopes that the sweet old woman followed her voice.

"You know Derrick would want you to moarn but he'd also want you to live a little." she told her while sitting at the edge of her bed.

"It has only been three weeks since his..." she stumbled on the words that she so badly needed to accept, "Death!"

"I know but you're young and still have a lot to offer, you don't want to live the rest of your life in regrets, do you?" Alice asked.

"I just think it's too soon to get back out there." she said pulling herself away from window.

"When my Henry died, I was just like you, sulking around my apartment not wanting to live anymore. I know he died when I was already old and had nothing to live for but, I still regret not taking the time to go on those adventures that I would not have been able to do when he was alive." she told her.

Bianca walked over to her dresser, removing a postcard that showed some white painted buildings. "I've always wanted to go to Greece." she said slowly drawing to the idea of adventure, hoping that it would fill the now empty spot her heart held.

"You should go." Alice tried to persuade her.

"How would I?" she questioned, looking for every excuse of why she shouldn't, "I don't even have the money."

"I'd fund it!" Alice chimed in.

"But I still have my job to go back to." she said walking around Alice who now stood in front of her.

"They'd understand." she simply stated.

"I couldn't possibly ask you to fund my entire trip when I just spent all my money on the funeral, you still have debts to pay off." Bianca argued.

"Let me worry about that!" Alice said sternly, "Besides you might end up meeting your future husband on your adventure, and even if you don't you would have had a great time."

Seeing the determination in Alice's eyes, she finally gave in to her plea. "Okay okay, I'd go."

"Great, I'd go book your flight while you pack your bags." she said happily clapping her hands and began making her way out of the bedroom door.

Still standing there in surprise, Bianca was brought out of her state by an interesting question that Alice had walked back to ask her, "Why Greece?"

After a pause, Bianca smiled, "Because Greece has a peaceful aura, that is filled with love and happiness, it has always been my dream destination."

"Perfect!" Alice said making her way out of Bianca's apartment and into hers.

As Alice spent her evening booking flights, Bianca spent her evening calling her job to get time off to go on the trip. After an hour on the phone, she finally persuaded her boss into giving her two more weeks.

"Thank you sir." she said hanging up the call. "Now it's time to pack!"

She slumped down on her bed, feeling exhausted by the thought of all that she needed to put together. "Damn Alice!" she cursed at the thought that she allowed Alice to convince her into doing something this wild.
