It was night time once again, it was a clear sky and a sea beast named Cala offered to keep them safe while sailing as apparently Cup and Mugs freed her from debt and apparently showed her someone had an interest in her. . .?
Oswald was taking over the helm after he told Mickey to go to sleep, his child was out like a light as where the others become they fought the Devil and Won no less!
Cup took one of his horns as a safe keep and gave Felix some old jewel that he used to the mend the horn the first time for his books.
. . .
Speaking of Felix, he woke up not too long ago to Oswald's surprise and has been looking out ahead since and hasn't moved from the bow of the boat.
"Hey, are you alright?"
Felix jumped,"Oh, you startled me. Yes, I'm alright. I just, had an early start than usual.", Oswald nods, but he remembered the two times Felix felt like someone was following them and genuinely wanted to know if he was alright.
"Uhm, you've just been a little paranoid lately and I wanted to know if everything was alright."
Oswald wasn't the best at conveying emotions, not for a long time but he wanted to make sure everyone was alright.
"Uhm. . . Well, it's just the first time I've been with anyone on my adventures, not too use to having someone ask if I'm alright. Usually have to tell myself that I am so I can get back up.", Oswald nods,"I know the feeling.", Oswald sat across from Felix on the bow of the ship, he took a deep breath which helped with the sea, it was really calming to say the least.
. . .
"Um, I usually wouldn't talk about it, but. . . Your paranoia is much like how I was, when my wife passed, I became. . . Somewhat of a germaphobia, constantly checking the kids and my brother, even a small cough made me scared that it would develop into the ink illness.", Felix nods, Oswald took another deep breath,"And I could tell at times, you looked worried and kept glancing over your shoulder and I just wanted to know if you were okay.", Felix was silent, taking his hat off and resting it on his bag.
"There was. . . Another reason, I didn't want to go after the Ink Machine."
Felix sighed,"Not long after I visited the town casino and found that message, I've been having this dream and or nightmare. . . It sort of repeats itself but as we made progress to finding the Machine, more details were added and the dream began to feel like a nightmare.", Felix rubbed his wrist, Oswald kept quiet for Felix to continue.
"And I. . . I guess, the dream sort of threw me off, made me question what we are doing."
Felix chuckled,"Funny how all the things to startle me would be some dream.", "I'd say it's quite reasonable.", Felix was surprised, Oswald rubbed the back of his neck,"I won't lie Felix, this mission was dangerous especially the amount of times you put yourself out there, and now that the adventure is ending it is reasonable to still be jittery and shaken from the adrenaline.", Felix nods, remembering how he was when he was attacked by the Fire Tiger, at first the pain was numb but as the adrenaline settled down the pain too set which barely allowed Felix to move.
"Don't worry too much, Felix. Even though you have every right to be."
Oswald returns to helm after offering a smile of encouragement to Felix who smiled back.
Though looking back into the distance of the ocean, Felix couldn't help let his kind wonder around and scratch his wrist with worry.
"Plese. . . Don't make me regret this. . ."
