Hi there lovely, it's the author here. I thought maybe the story needed some explanation, just to clear a few things up so it's fully understandable.1., The most impirtant thing is to pay attention to the date each page is marked as, so the timeline doesn't get mixed up.
2., From Cillian's diary we can get some information about his love with Josephine, who is a human girl, while he's a vampire. He's aware that the attraction he feels towards the girl is not right, but seems to be blinded by love so he ignores this. Their relathionship starts off healthy, but after a while Cillian figures staying away from blood, especially as charming as Josephine's is very hard. Through the story his father and brothers try to convince him to turn the girl for her own good, to protect her from themselves yeah, but from Cillian also.
As each page goes by Cillian gets crazier and crazier and eventually begans to loose his mind. Now here comes the tricky part.
3., Who's the real villain?
The simple answer is, Cillian. Marcello and the brothers are aware of the risk and try to help Josephine during the story.
See here:When words are written in (brackets), it means that we read the pharagraps as Cillian makes them out to be. That's what he wants to hear, what he wants to believe, and in the brackets we see how the real conversation goes; page nine- Dad, lock him up. I will take her away! -This is Cillians brother, Jonathan telling his father to get hold of Cillian and lock him in a room while he takes Josephine somewhere safer. Another exaple is when Cillian asks Marleen for her girl's hand in marriage, or when he has a conversation with his father-page 11.
Now with this prespective we realise why they were banging on the door, picking the lock, alarming Josephine when Cillian stepped to the room...
4., Ending. After he takes care of his brothers and father, Cillian ends up ending Josephine's life.
I hope that helped, and please let me know how you liked the story! I'm a little nervous to post it, hopefully you'll enjoy it. Thank you so much for reading!!!
