45. Where are you, baby?

Friday, 2.30PM

"I get your point, officer", Sun-myung nodded, barely listening to the police officer's long explanation.

"Do you want me to explain the situation to Mr.Taehyung again?", the officer asked, his tone coming out a bit harsher than he had intended.

"As if that would help...", Sun-myung mumbled to himself with a heavy sigh, but nodded again in response.

"Alright...", the police officer grunted and walked towards Taehyung, who was pacing to and fro in front of the interrogation room with his phone pressed to his left ear.

Sun-myung followed quietly, letting the officer handle the conversation, as he had grown tired of his son's tantrums. It had been more than two hours since they left his office building with Namjoon and Jungkook. It had begun with Taehyung speeding down the streets like a mad man and breaking a dozen traffic rules to reach the park where Jin was supposed to be meeting Junghoon's men. To worsen the situation, Namjoon showed Taehyung the videos from the park on social media, and a particular clip with Jin and Jimin running through the chaotic crowd at the park sent Taehyung into a frenzy state. Thankfully, half way through, they learnt from a live feed that the district police had intervened after receiving calls from the public, and quieted the chaos in the park, nabbing four of Junghoon's men in the process.

Sun-myung used his powers and requested the criminals to be isolated and guarded in the district police station. They had hurried to the police station and the series of events that followed had left Sun-myung stunned and speechless. They were initially guided to wait outside the interrogation room, where Junghoon's men were questioned separately. Sun-myung could see Taehyung's face contorting with anger, as the accused men continued to feign ignorance and deny every accusation earnestly. Each had a different story to tell, and when the last guy to be questioned had outright refused to acknowledge the accusations even after the officers showed him the videos recorded at the park, Taehyung went berserk and barged into the interrogation room.

Sun-myung was too shocked to even react, when Taehyung went on a rampage and began throwing punches at the guy violently. Taehyung was so blinded with rage, that he almost hit Namjoon too, when the latter tried to stop him. The police officers had to drag Taehyung away by force to control his flaring temper. Although Taehyung's punches made the guy spill out everything in fear, Sun-myung and Namjoon had a hard time controlling Taehyung's wrath outside the interrogation room, as every word from the criminal enraged Taehyung.

Taehyung had always been a calm and sensible person. That's how Sun-myung had raised his son, to be patient and in control of everything that happened around him. But seeing his son losing his cool and charging ahead blindly like a raging bull, had shaken Sun-myung to the core. Never in his wildest dreams had Sun-myung thought that he would feel hesitant and scared to approach his own son. Also, the things he was getting to know about Jin and Jimin through Taehyung, Namjoon and Junghoon's men were making him have second thoughts about the duo.

Sun-myung gulped as the police officer approached Taehyung cautiously. Taehyung noticed the officer and raised his eyebrows without removing the phone from his ear.

"Sir, we are done with the questioning", the officer conveyed reluctantly, "We need to move them to the prosecutor's office as per orders. If you are...."
