“Do you know what happened? Do you think it was Kurt and his followers”
“I don’t know, but I wouldn't put it past him. He treats omegas horrible , you know he thinks they just take up space in the pack. We need to do something before it happens again what's going to stop him from attacking the elders… or you.”
“I know, I know but everyone likes him there’s no proof unless he confesses. We need to look into this more but watch our backs and don’t say a thing to your sister she cant know. We will also have to pair her with someone else.”
“Dad do you think she's safe here. Kurt almost killed her today sure that omega lead her to her almost death but still. She's in constant danger if she stays here. “
“I know its why I asked Rex to take her under his wing and leave the pack. I want her to think its for training purposes. We cant let her know of the danger she's in. Son if anything happens to me I want you to promise that she will be safe. It seems like the pack has already chosen sides”
I was coming back from nightly walk when I overheard Felix and our father talking. I left the den and ran to Anthony's secret hiding spot to tell him what I overheard. I skidded to a halt as the smell of blood overwhelmed my senses. I looked around before I pushed aside the curtains of vines that hid the secret cave. There was so much blood everywhere the sight and smell had my stomach turning. Fear had my blood run cold as I walked deeper into the cave ‘what happen here.’ I thought, I stepped over a puddle of blood and turned the corner where the cave leads to a small pond. A small pond that once held memories of laughter was now tainted red and held the lifeless body of our beloved omega, Anthony. “Nooooo!” I ran to him and pulled him out of the water “Anthony…” I nudged him “no you cant be dead… its all my fault I should've warned you.” I curled up around his lifeless body and cried.
“look what we have here boys” I look up and see Kurt and his gang laughing “hey boss can we have this one. You had boy all to yourself” Kurt looks at his friends and back at me “let me have her and you guys can take care of dear old daddy. What do you say boys” the guys all shout their agreement and backed away giving him space. Kurt took a step towards me “Its truly amazing how much blood was in such a little thing. I wonder how much we can spill from you” he growls and snaps he teeth at me trying to scare me. I growled and stood up facing him head on. “Your going to pay for what you did Kurt. He did nothing to you.” He just laughs “oh yea and what you going to do about it runt, run and tell daddy” he pounces on me and easily over powers me pinning me down. “I've got you now runt, no one here to get in my way” he lowers his head and latches on to my scruff and shakes me vigorously and lets go throwing me across the small room.
I hit the wall so hard it knocked the breath of me. I growl and try to stand up panting, I look Kurt straight in the eye “ I will end you” I ran and slid under Kurt and turning just enough to bite onto his hind leg he yelps and tries to shake me off. I leg just as he tries to take a bite of me but misses and graze my ear. I quickly roll out the way and jump onto his back digging my nails into him and chomping down hard on his ear. I can taste his blood as it run down my throat fueling my anger. Kurt twist and turns and throwing us against the wall desperate to get me off. He then tries to roll over but I jump off and go for the throat once he was on his back exposing himself. I bite down so hard my teeth hurts and start clawing at his under belly.
All I saw was red as rage took over, my paws and muzzle soaked in his blood. The smell of his fear when he realized he already loss this fight gave me such satisfaction and the taste of his blood pushed me to finish the job. I jumped off and stared as his blood came out in waves from the open wound on his neck. I knew he could survive this if I don’t kill him now, so I jumped onto his stomach and drug my teeth in and ripped his belly open and began digging and ripping his insides out. I didn’t stop until I was pulled off him by Rex snarling and took a swipe at his face. “Calm down little one he’s dead the others ran to tell the others we have to get you out of here.” Rex ran still carrying me by the scruff. He ran like that for so long I didn’t realize I fell asleep until he dropped me on a pile of leaves. I whimper cowering low to the ground prepared for father to lecture me.
Rex just stared at me as the time seconds ticked by, the silence and his unblinking eyes made me uncomfortable so I got up and looked around to find father. However father was nowhere insight, in fact we weren't even in pack territory. “why are we in the forbidden woods. Am I being exiled.?” I lower my head unable to meet Rex in the eyes “no but it would have been worse if you went back home. Your father is dead and Felix was chased off territory. Kurt’s beta is alpha now and they will be hunting you down. We need to keep moving. Your training starts now.” He walks off heading further north deeper into the forbidden woods. “I suggest you follow pup”. I look back towards home and weigh my options, the choice was easy, I ran after Rex. “we're going to snowy point pup. It will be a long travel by the time we get there you will have learned to hunt, track, and fight. I will leave out here if you even complain about anything. You can no longer act like the pup you are. Now keep up we're still too close for comfort” he picked up speed.
I struggled to keep up “wait im tired Rex” I start to slow down my muscle burning “Rex!” he doesn’t stop and he's soon out of sight leaving me alone. I come to a complete stop and collapse to the floor my tiny legs no longer able to hold me. “Rex…” I whimpers and look around, the wind starts to pick up ruffling my fur causing me to shiver. ‘ok he said he was going towards snowy point that’s straight north’ I sigh willing myself to keep going. I made it a mile or two before the rain came pouring down, still no sign of Rex. Hungry, wet, and exhausted I drag myself into a badgers den the smelled like it hasn’t been used in a while. Cold and alone I shake my wet fur out and lay down for the night.
Some where in the middle of the night the sound of a branch breaking startles me awake. My heart pounding against my chest as I try to hear listen for another sound, I poke me head out and look around “at least it stopped raining” I begin to retreat back inside when I hear it again, the snapping of a branch and then growling. I instantly begin to panic and hide further back into the den. Dirt starts to fall from the ceiling as they try to dig to me I quickly run out and keep heading north without looking back. Few hours later I slow my pace and stop near a creek, parched I drink from it greedily then I dive into the freezing water washing the dirt away. I climb out and look up at the sky just as the sun begin to rise revealing the mountain from the shadows “ I made it I cant believe I made it” I run the rest of the way up the mountain by the time I reach the top the birds are flying about singing their morning songs.
I take a moment to take in the breath taking view “looks like two complete different worlds" the place I once called home quiet and filled with colors of fall versus up on top of the mountain the season season to change from fall to winter as snow covers the woods like a white blanket. I look around trying to find any signs of Rex not single hint that he was here. I hear the someone coming, the rustling of the fallen leaves being pushed aside. Tired of running I stand my ground head held high growling a warning, that’s when I hear the softest chuckle as Rex appears “you are ready pup” he says as he sits in front of me proudly “let’s begin your training” he walks past and into the woods.
