Summer Sensation

As I dodged the stampede of teens running out of school as the final bell rang for summer vacation to begin, I enjoyed the crisp summer air and the thoughts of no homework. As I looked ahead, at my mothers car waiting to pick me up,

I stopped in horror.

My mom was making out with a total stranger in the passenger seat of the car.

All the tugging they were going through, At first I thought that they were going through a game of tug-of-war on the seat. With their lips.

I watched for about five more minutes, confused, until my mother finally glanced out the window and stopped frozen. The stranger smiled at her, and then stopped and looked out the window with the exact same, embarrassed, stupid face.

My mom swung the door open, her hair knotted up and her eyeliner smudged, as the stranger starred at me stupidly, his fast breathing, and lip stick all over his faced indicated that he was in a total make-out sensation with my mother. My mother glanced at me and opened her mouth to spit out one, trembling embarrassed, word out of her glossed lips.

"Hi"

So on the ride home, my mother had to go through that the stranger's name was Daryl, and she and him had met at starbucks a couple months ago and they tried they're first kiss with each other on the passenger seat. At first I thought my mother was lying, but she kept calling some guy at dinner named Daryl, even when she told me the old "no texting at dinner" rule, she'd answer right away if Daryl texted her.

"Are you sure it's not too early to be dating Daryl? What about Dad?"

My dialogue silenced the car, except for Daryl, who was laughing so hard at a joke on his iPhone, that we had to stare him down until there was an awkward silence. Daryl obviously had no idea what happened to my father.
