The teacher ended the lesson and Michaela sat there quietly and awkwardly next to Taylor. Lyla didn't come into class today, so she was left alone with him. Michaela shifted awkwardly in her seat and then looked at Taylor. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you at the past lectures."

Taylor looked up from his work at her. "Yeah, I just transferred here. My last school wasn't a good fit." Michaela nodded her head. Taylor pointed the end of his pencil towards Ash. "That's my roommate and the reason the school wasn't a good fit." he said sighing.

Michaela looked at Ash and he still wasn't looking towards her. "Why was it because of him it wasn't a good fit?" she said, turning towards Taylor but another student hushed at them. Michaela turned to the other student and mouthed a sorry.

Once the final bell rang, signaling the day was over, Michaela ran towards her and Lyla's room. She burst through the door and found Lyla sitting on the bed doing her homework and assignments from the day. "Yes?" she said annoyed.

Michaela huffed and then frowned. "I knew Ash was bad news. There's a new guy in our class named Taylor who transferred her. Guess why? Because of Ash. But what doesn't make sense is that they're roomies." she said sitting down on the bed and looking at what Lyla was working on.

"Maybe it's because they were too close with one another." Lyla said not taking her eyes off her computer screen. "I mean he can't be all that bad." she said, finally looking up. "They are sharing a room and he helped me with my math. Not to mention he did say yes when u asked him out. Stop over thinking about this. It's going to be fine. Trusted me."

"I don't know something feels off about this whole situation and I don't like it." Michaela stood up and walked over to the door.

Lyla sighed. "Where are you going now?"

"I'm going to find that dude that sits next to Ash and see if he knows anything about this."

Lyla rolled her eyes. "Not without me!" she said, grabbing her things.

Within minutes they stumbled into the guy in the hallways. "Sorry!" she said looking at the person she bumped into.

"It's alright." he said with a small smile and began to continue on his way.

"Wait!" she said, "I have a question for you." He turned around. "Do you know Taylor?"

"Not personally but Ash has talked about him. Since you're interested, I'll tell you a secret Ash told me, but you can't tell anyone else, ok?" Michaela nodded her head and Lyla stood there watching him. The guy stepped closer. "The two of them are dating." he said in a whisper.
