Chapter 2 - Meeting the Girl
"Vegas here we comeeee!" Jason yelled, his head sticking out he window.
"You know what they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!" I chirped, unusually happy this morning.
"What's up with you?" Mikey stared at me wide eyed. I shrugged.
"Coffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffeecoffee." Christian chanted rocking back and forth in the corner.
"Who decided to bring psycho over here?" Jason pointed to Christian.
"Me. Need. Coffee." Christian said, very caveman like.
"Well, we need a pit stop so how about we stop at that Starbucks over there?" Jason said, pointing.
"You look like a retard." Christian giggled at Jason.
"Hey!" I yelled. "That's offensive to retards!"
"You would know, wouldn't you?" Jason mumbled. I just ignored him.
As we parked, I saw a girl sitting in front of Starbucks playing the guitar. When I stepped out of the RV, her music flowed into my ears. She was playing 'The A Team' by Ed Sheeran (*I'M ASSUMING EVERYONE KNOWS THIS SONG. WE LOVE IT!). Not only did she have a gorgeous voice, but she was beautiful as well. She had long, dark brown hair, and amazing brown/green eyes.
"Ummm... guys?" I noticed I wasn't the only one staring. I mean, I don't blame them. But now, Christian wasn't the only one who needed coffee. The mention of it has brought up a craving.
"Di-di-did you say something?" Kelly finally pried his eyes away. I took note of the boy's action.
"Yeah, lets go inside before we freeze our butts off!" I pushed all four boys away from the girl, but not before dropping a twenty in her guitar case. When I did so, she looked down, shocked, stumbling on her chords, but quickly fixed the mistake. I smiled down at her when she looked up gratefully. She managed to keep singing perfectly while she grinned at me, mouthing thank you in between verses.
"Hey, Mikey, I have to pee. Can you order for me?" I smiled at him.
"Yeah, sure. Go Em," he turned to face me. "Before you wee yourself." He mocked me in a British accent. I had mistakenly told him my love for accents, now that's all he teased me about.
I peed as fast as I could, I really wanted my Carmel Frappacino with extra whipped cream and extra carmel! As I was washing my hands, the bathroom door was hit by something, and I could tell the person was struggling to open it. I ran over and grabbed the door, opening for the girl. When I looked at her face, I noticed it was the girl from outside.
"Here, let me help you with that." I said, reaching for her guitar case. She jumped, just noticing me then.
"Oh! Thank you soo much." Her British accent heavy In her voice. She handed the case to me, then ran for the closest stall. I heard her clothes rustle for a second, then silence. After a minute, she spoke up.
"Umm... There are many things I can do it front of an audience, but weeing isn't one of them." She laughed awkwardly.
"Uhh, sorry, do... You want me to umm... Ummm... Sing...?" I mentally face palmed myself.
"Sure..." She giggled at the end. I cleared my through and started to sing my favorite song at the moment, which just so happened to be 'She's Not Afraid' by One Direction (LINK ON THE SIDE! <3)-
Yeah (aha), one, two, three, four!
She sneaks out in the middle of the night, yeah
Tight dress with the top cut low
She's addicted to the feeling of letting go, oh-woah, letting go
She walks in and the room just lights up
But she don't want anyone to know
That I'm the only one that gets to take her home, oh-woah, take her home
But every time I tell her that I want more
She closes the door
She's not afraid of all the attention
She's not afraid of running wild
How come she's so afraid of falling in love?
She's not afraid of scary movies
She likes the way we kiss in the dark
But she's so afraid of f-f-falling in love, love
Maybe she's just trying to test me
Wanna see how hard I'm gonna work
Wanna see if I can really tell how much she's worth, what you're worth
Maybe all her friends have told her, "Don't get closer ‒
He'll just break your heart"
But either way she sees in the end
And it's just so hard, so hard
'Cause every time I tell her how I feel
She says it's not real
One, two, three, four
She's not afraid of all the attention
She's not afraid of running wild
How come she's so afraid of falling in love?
She's not afraid of scary movies
She likes the way we kiss in the dark
But she's so afraid of f-f-falling in love, love
What about all the things we say
Talking on the phone so late (so late)
I can't let her get away from me, oh
When I say that I can do it no more
She's back in my door
(She's not afraid)
She's not afraid of all the attention
She's not afraid of running wild (running wild)
How come she's so afraid of falling in love? (falling in love)
She's not afraid of scary movies (she's not afraid)
She likes the way we kiss in the dark (kiss in the dark)
But she's so afraid of f-f-falling in love, love
She's not afraid
She's not afraid
Love, love
"That was amazing." The girl scared me. I must have zoned out while singing, I didn't even notice her in front of me.
"Woah, um thanks. But I'm nothing compared to you." I complemented her.
"You have no idea how much I appreciate that twenty dollars you have me. Seriously, that can feed me for the next couple days. So thank you so much." She hugged me.
"What's your name?" I asked, out of the blue.
"My name is Jesy." She smiled, reaching for her guitar. But I pulled my hand back, out of her reach. She looked confused, and a little angry.
"Well, Jesy, my name'a Emily, but I have another question."
"Shoot."
"How'd you like to come on a road trip with me and my friends?"
