Broken glass. Lamps and photos torn off walls. Blood stains lightly splattered across certain parts of the carpet. But most importantly Andre. Andre is cleaning up all the broken glass on his hands and knees, from the blood on his legs, it is assumed the glass also did that.
Apple immediately runs in and picks Andre off the floor. She hugs him as he cries into her shoulder. Apple's numb, numb to Andres's cries, numb to the mess surrendering her. Numb to the fact her mum gave life to children she hates. Numb from practically the situation being her own fault for leaving for the party. Numb.
However, that deep dreadful feeling left once she caught eyes with the tornado. The tornado that caused all this damage to happen. Apple placed Andre on the couch. She had enough of her mum. Enough of her leaving and only coming for money or if she had nowhere else to stay. Sick of her being so self-centered that she can't open her eyes to see the pain she causes everywhere she goes. How everything is perfect before she comes back and sets the two siblings back in their mental pain.
Apple's blood turned redder, as she clenched her fist. She watched the woman who was once her mother going into the fridge and eating some leftovers. Apple stomped up to her - not knowing exactly what her intentions were.
"Apple good to see your home, to see how good of a sister you are abanding your brother" She chuckled sarcastically.
Apple couldn't stand her old, disgusting face, scoffing down the food she made, cause she actually cooks food for her brother, even though it's not meant to be her job.
"Yea, LIKE YOU HAVENT DONE THAT TO US" Apple screams, forgetting about class and dignity.
Apple usually holds back her anger. She likes to think logically without her emotions altering a situation way out of proportion. But maybe apple wanted this relationship to end. Apple always denied her hate for her mother. Making up excuses that it was the drug's fault, her father's fault, her children's fault. Apple fault. But now at that very moment, Apple knew her mother's true colors. And then and there she decided she hated her mother.
"ARE YOU GONNA SAY SOMETHING?"
Apple's mother looked up to Apple and chuckled, obvious high off cocaine, heroin, or whatever the decaying woman could get her poisoned fingers on.
"GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE"
When Apple's mum only responded with more laughter, Apple felt the impatient adrenaline racing through her, as she gripped her mother's forearm and yanked her to stand up.
"T-this is my house" Her mother lightly defended.
"Then why are you never fucking here"
With that Apple opened the front door and pushed her mother out of it, as the woman stumbled off down the street, walking off to god knows where.
"Fucking drugged bitch" Apple muttered with pure hatred.
When Apple turned back, now more clear-headed. Back to the destruction and the child yelling and bawling his eyes out. Andre had his face stuffed in a pillow releasing muffled yells and cries. At that very moment seeing all the pain she had caused her brother, she too felt tears of patheticness fall from her eyes, to the ground. Apple's breath kept coming out in wails. She walked over to her favorite person who she, betrayed and failed to protect.
"I am so sorry Andre" Her voice cracked, being so choked up.
Apple felt her whole body fall, sink into the earth, with guilt. She didn't deserve to live if she was making everyone else's lives worse.
Andre looked up, with a bruise on his cheek. He quickly ran and jumped into Apple's arms. He hadn't even realized the catastrophe was over until Apple had brought him out of his trance. Apple lifted him off the ground and wrapped her arms around him, as Apple needed the comfort just as much as him. Andre had his arms held so tightly around Apple it hurt, but she didn't care. Apple didn't care if he suffocated her, she was just happy he was okay.
