Zacky woke up to find he was alone on the couch. He wondered if the wolf was still in the house or had somehow left; after a quick search of his house, though, he found that the wolf was gone. He didn't have time to wonder how it had gotten out of the house, though, because just then, the doorbell rang. I hope that's Brian.. He thought with a sigh as he went over and opened the door; sure enough, it was.

"Hey, Zee, what's-" Brian began, but Zacky flung his arms around the taller man, his entire body shaking with fear. "Woah, Zacky!" Brian gasped as they stepped into the house. He tapped the door closed with his foot and wrapped his arms around Zacky's waist, whispering comforting words into his ear.

Soon enough, they ended up on the couch, Zacky cradled comfortingly in Brian's strong arms. "What happened, Zee?" He whispered softly, his eyes searching the smooth, round face of the shorter man that sat in his arms. Zacky sniffled for a minute before he was finally able to compose himself enough to speak.

"I was.. A-attacked last night.. By a vampire.." Zacky whispered, and Brian's eyes widened in fake shock. He knew that. He was the one that had saved Zacky. "He.. He almost bit my neck, but.. This werewolf came into my house and killed him.. And then for the rest of the night, it snuggled with me.. Almost like it was guarding me.." Brian nodded, remembering the night well. He didn't get any sleep until sunrise, when he had left and went back home. "And then.. I had a nightmare when I fell asleep.."

"A nightmare?" Brian echoed. If he had known that would've happened, he wouldn't have left at all.. Zacky nodded, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand.

"I.. I was walking down the sidewalk.. Towards your house, it was dark, and then.. All the street lights blew out.. There was a whoosh of air.. I was surrounded by this group of people," Zacky swallowed nervously. "But it turned out they were vampires.. And then they jumped on me.. Took turns.." His voice turned into a hoarse whisper. "Biting my neck.." Brian's fingertips gently grazed over a spot on Zacky's neck.

"Zacky.. I promise, I won't let anything hurt you.. And I'm pretty sure that werewolf won't let anything happen to you, either," He added playfully, his eyes glimmering with knowledge. "If anything ever happens.. If you're ever scared.. I want you to call me. Call me, text me, and I'll be here faster than you can say my full name." He smiled reassuringly, playing with a lock of Zacky's raven colored hair.

"Thank you, Bri.." He whispered softly, his head gently resting on Brian's broad shoulder. Suddenly, with Brian there, he knew he was protected. He knew he was safe. "Are you hungry?" He asked, sitting up a little bit to look into Brian's face.

"No, Zee, I'm fine." He smiled, patting Zacky's head so that he'd lay it back on his shoulder.

"Are you sure? I can cook somethi-" Zacky was interrupted by his own stomach grumbling. "Well.. I know I'm hungry." He giggled, and Brian raised his eyebrow at the grumbling stomach before he patted it gently.

"I'm a friend, buddy!" He teased, earning a playful swat and squeak from Zacky. "Go make yourself some food, Zee. I'll be right here." He added, almost as though he knew Zacky needed to hear that last bit.

"Alright. Are you sure you don't want anything?" Zacky asked once more, and once Brian nodded, he stood up and padded away to the kitchen to make himself some food.

"Hey, actually," Brian leaned against the door frame, peering into the kitchen. Zacky was just about to pull some food out of the fridge when he heard Brian speak, so he stopped and raised his brows. "Do you wanna go out to eat? I'll pay." He smiled, waiting for Zacky's reply.

"I thought you said you weren't hungry! Or do you just not like my cooking?" Zacky teased, a brow cocked upwards.

"Your cooking is amazing, Zee, but I just kinda wanna get out of this rut, y'know? Let's go out and do something!" Brian announced dramatically, waving his arms in the air to try and make Zacky understand.
