Zacky was incredibly bored. He hadn't seen Brian for days, but the two of them sent text messages back and forth, so Zacky guessed that would suffice.. For now. He had told Brian about getting bitten, and that the werewolf saved him, but Brian didn't say much in reply. Zacky was beginning to think that Brian actually didn't believe his experiences with the supernatural creatures.

Just then, his phone buzzed with a new text message.

'Hey Zee. What are you up to? :)' It was from Brian. Zacky grinned from ear to ear as his thumbs hovered over the screen, debating on what to say in reply.

'Nothin.. Just sittin' here bored as hell. What about you?' Zacky replied, that same smile still permanently etched on his adorable face.

'Same here. Lol.' The simple reply came back. But Zacky didn't realize that Brian was posted down the street, sitting on the hood of his car, bathed in the pale light of the half-moon. He was watching to make sure absolutely nothing happened to the love of his life. They had come too close to killing him just a few days before, and Brian was determined that it wouldn't happen again. He'd even expose himself if it made sure that Zacky wouldn't be hurt.

Little did Brian know, tonight would be that night.

Zacky sighed, a little irritated at Brian's short reply. He decided to go out and check the mail, seeing as things with the vampires and werewolves had been calm for the past few days. He stepped out of his house and closed the door behind him, slowly creeping towards the mailbox that was maybe fifteen measly feet from his doorway. As he was about halfway down his driveway, though, a loud, familiar whoosh sounded in his ears; he wasn't faced with one vampire, though. There was an entire group, ten of them, all circled around him.

"You're hard to catch out of the house alone," One of them hissed, and Zacky whirled to face him.

"Your little mutt friend keeps killing our kind." Another snarled, and Zacky whipped around to face that one as it spoke, as well.

"But now that he isn't here, you are ours." The tallest one growled, and then it lunged for him, but it didn't bite. Zacky stepped backwards, falling into one of the vampires in an attempt to get away. None of them went in for the kill just yet; it seemed as though they wanted to play with him, to make his blood rush as fast as possible.

"Zacky, duck!" A loud, deep voice yelled somewhere off to the side, and when he looked up, Zacky saw Brian bolting towards the group of vampires at an inhuman speed, seeming to get faster with each long stride that he made. In mid leap, Brian's entire body extended and formed into a werewolf with multiple loud, sickening crunches. He landed on one of the largest vampires, immediately snapping at the throat with a growl before he lunged at one of the ones that was holding Zacky by his arms. Zacky screamed and ducked, holding his head close to his knees as the fight raged on around him.

Vampires lunged, Brian growled and snarled. He even grabbed one vampire and flung it at three of the others, simultaneously injuring all four of the blood sucking leeches. Brian's claws raked at their pale faces and their bodies, and soon, there was enough blood to drown an elephant spilled on Zacky's driveway and the middle of the street.

"He can't hang around forever," The lead vampire hissed. "One day, we will make you one of us!" Then, the remaining vampires fled off into the woods; Brian stood with his back to Zacky, his muscles tensed and his breathing heavy. His ears suddenly flattened against his head as he turned around and gazed down at the frightened rhythm guitarist. This is it.. It's all over.. He won't love me now. Brian whined softly, backing up a step before he whirled around, his body ready to send him into a sprint.
