Liu finally caught his breath, not noticing the pair of footsteps behind him. He breathed heavily as held his hands to his chest as he began to calm down.
"This little shit is the new guy?" A voice came from above him.
"Yeah.. I'm not one hundred percent sure I know what Slendy was thinking, but maybe he's got potential or something..." Jack sighed, his words stung Liu.
"Need help standing up, kiddo?" Liu looked up, his eyes meeting a pair of ice blue eyes, with ashy black rings around them. His gaze fell to the scars in this strangers cheeks and he screamed at the top of his lungs, not caring about the roaring pain that shot through his body when he did.
He began to cough violently and stumbled to his feet on his own, before running back into the room he was in and vomiting into the trash bin. Blood and whatever he'd eaten earlier that day stained the part of his mask that he wasn't able to pull down in time.
He could hear more footsteps coming towards him and he slammed the door shut behind himself, locking it and backing away, falling on his back and staring at the ceiling as he spiraled into a blind panic.
His eyes opened and suddenly he was back in his childhood bedroom, having just woken up from a nightmare. The night was quiet, other than the slow and careful footsteps creeping towards his room, the old floorboards of the hallway betraying whomever was hiding in the shadows.
"Mom, dad?" Liu called out, he knew there would be no answer, they never answered, but he always hoped that one day they would become loving parents. "Jeff?" Was the next name he called out, his older brother was the closest thing he had to a loving parent, he protected him at all costs, he loved him.
His door creaked open, and Liu could see the silhouette of a person, but not a single defining detail. The curtains blew open and moonlight rushed into the room.
Light reflected off of the combat knife in Jeff's hand, and showed the bleeding gauges in his cheeks that formed a wicked and painful smile. Blood stained his pale, white skin and hoodie and he looked like he was starting to laugh before Liu let out a small whimper.
"J-Jeff.. what did you-" He was not allowed to finish his sentence as his brother leapt forward and began to stab at him with his knife. Liu thrashed around, trying to fight back the best he could as the only person he ever trusted began to carve a messy, uneven smile into his face. Liu tried to pull away and the knife dragged across the bridge of his nose, cutting the skin like paper.
He tried to scream and cry, but Jeff put his hand over his mouth, before violently stabbing him, over and over and over again, cutting through him as if he were nothing. Finally he took his hand off of his mouth and began to pick Liu up.
"Shhh..." Jeff whispered. "Just go to sleep..." He dragged Liu down the stairs, accidentally knocking his head off of the wall multiple times before he finally sat him up at the dinner table.
Liu passed out and woke up surrounded by fire. He slowly and painfully dragged himself out of the house and into the front yard, he could hear sirens blaring all around him as he collapsed in the yard, his body barely even salvageable anymore.
Hey.. i-its gonna be okay... We're gonna be okay...
Sully's eyes widened as he heard loud pounding at the door. He couldn't handle seeing Jeff right now and he began to cower underneath the bed.
He finally heard the door begin to unlock and closed his eyes tight, cursing himself for trying so hard to protect Liu even at times like these. He could still taste vomit on his breath and tried not to barf once more. The slow, yet calculated footsteps of Jack came towards him.
"Are you okay?" His deep, dark voice was starting to become almost comforting instead of scary.
"I- NO JUST GO AWAY I DON'T KNOW YOU, JUST LEAVE!!" Sully cried, trying not to vomit himself.
"Okay dude.. I'll leave you to calm down." He turned around, be he did not move, as the tall, faceless thing from before moved into the room.
What are you screeching about? Long, extra limbs seemed to flow out of it's back like tentacles, Sully was tempted to slice at them, but he knew better than to challenge this monster. Are you that much of a coward, that you can't handle being around Jeff? It makes me wonder how I should deal with you.
"I-I'm sorry I-" Sully could feel the static coming on, but it didn't seem to affect him the same way, it didn't hurt, and it didn't wreck his vision. He shook his head and pulled himself from under the bed. "I won't let it happen again."
He calmed himself down, only to preserve the life of himself and Liu. He gripped the handle of his cane and began to walk out of the room, but he felt something wrap around his bad leg.
In an instant he was pulled off the ground and then slammed back down, he thought he felt one of his bones crack as he his the floor a second time. He coughed up blood, pain spiking through his body as he lay on the floor, he felt sick to his stomach trying to get up, and his right arm couldn't move without horrific pain shooting through it.
Jack, I might as well have you look after this one, since you brought him in, I expect some sort of improvement from him.
Jack nodded quietly, watching the Slenderman leave the room. He walked over to Sully and pulled him to his feet.
"Come on, you should sleep, and I'll get a cast for your arm." He dragged him over to bed and covered him up with blankets.
Sully groaned and fell asleep almost immediately.
